The head of NASA met with the president of the country

The head of NASA, Charles Bolden, met this morning with President Shimon Peres, on the occasion of his visit to Israel at the space conference of the Fisher Institute and the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Bolden landed in Israel yesterday, for a visit of several days during which he will open the Ilan Ramon International Space Conference to be held at the Fisher Institute in cooperation with the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The meeting was also attended by Rona Ramon, the Minister of Science and Technology, Prof. Daniel Hershkowitz, the CEO of the Ministry, Menachem Greenblum, the head of the Israel Space Agency, Dr. Zvi Kaplan, the chairman of the Space Agency, Prof. Yitzhak Ben Israel, and the head of the Fisher Institute, Assaf Agmon. US Ambassador to Israel and other senior officials.

The head of NASA said at the President's residence that the visit to Israel is a great honor for him. Bolden spoke at length about the late Ilan Ramon and the importance of preserving his memory. The Ilan Ramon International Space Conference is being held for the fifth year at the Fisher Institute for Strategic Air and Space Research, together with the Ministry of Science and Technology.
