"The field of nanotechnology is a very special field, because it contains enormous greatness, at the same time as infinite smallness. This is a huge field - but tiny in physical terms," said President Peres
The President of the country, Shimon Peres, and his son, managing partner and founder of Pitango, Hami Peres, met this morning at the Dan Panorama Hotel in Tel Aviv, during the opening of the "Nano-Israel 2010" week at the Dan Panorama Hotel in Tel Aviv, which was attended by over a thousand participants. Peres the father, who opened the event with his speech, has been promoting the field of nanotechnology in Israel for years, while the son, Hami Peres, led a special panel of venture capitalists at the conference, dedicated to investments in nanotechnology. At the conference, the president and his son met with the new Nobel Prize winner, Professor Andre Geim, who was announced as the winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics just three weeks ago. President Peres shut himself up for a short time together with Professor Gaim for a meeting, in which they discussed the development of nanotechnologies in Israel and how to increase research yields in the field. "The field of nanotechnology is a very special field, because it contains enormous greatness, at the same time as infinite smallness. This is a huge field - but tiny in physical terms," said President Peres.
The knowledge site team participated in several events at the Nano-Israel conference, which was attended by about a thousand experts from Israel and the world, and we will bring our impressions in the coming days.
