Nano-Israel conference: electronic nose for detecting explosives, a device for detecting bacteria in food, a nanometric printer and more

Over 1200 participants from over 36 countries will arrive tomorrow in Tel Aviv to take part in the "Nano-Israel 2014" conference and exhibition, to examine scientific achievements and consider investment options

Conference "Nano Israel 2014” and the related exhibition will open tomorrow (Monday, March 24) in Tel Aviv. The conference is an international event dealing with innovations and business opportunities in the fields of nanomaterials, nanoelectronics, nanophotonics, nanobio and nanomedicine. It is estimated that over 1200 participants from over 36 countries will attend.

Israel is known for its achievements and innovation in the nano field. Throughout the last decade, Israel has positioned itself as a nanotechnology leader, providing new and exciting possibilities in the fields of medicine, mobile, defense and other areas of the high-tech industry. At the conference and the related exhibition, it will be possible to get a first glimpse of some of the more advanced technologies in the field, which will be presented in the MTP pavilion by the chief scientist, Avi Hasson, such as an electronic nose for detecting explosives, a device for detecting bacteria in food, a nanometer printer, flexible solar panels , bio-sensors and a bracelet for measuring the medical profile data.

The conference will be opened by Jacob Perry, Minister of Science and Technology, Prof. Manuel Trachtenberg, Chairman of the Planning and Budgeting Committee of the Higher Education Council, Benny Landa, entrepreneur and businessman, and Prof. Alan Haeger, winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry, who will appear together with a long list of people Academia and industry, from Israel and the world. More than 40 Israeli nano companies will present their innovations and this year also a "Nano Art" competition will be held, at the end of which works of art based on nanotechnology will be presented at the exhibition.
