Here is a charming gadget for astronomy enthusiasts - that will bring even the moon to the palm of your hand... This is the mySky - a small space "telescope", equipped with an LCD screen, a 12-channel GPS receiver, a magnetic compass and an electronic accelerometer - that will take you on a guided tour of our galaxy, Made by the American Meade, a manufacturer of microscopes, telescopes and binoculars.

Take mySky out of its packaging, put four AA batteries in it and go outside with it - preferably in the evening and at night, although you can also use it during the day, although you won't see the stars in the sky. Now, give mySky a few minutes to reset and calculate its position in space and time with the help of the GPS component, just aim it at some sparkle in the sky, and Shoot - press the "trigger". This nifty thing will simply identify the star and display its details on the screen. You can also hum the melody of Shalom Hanoch to Yankel'a Rotblit's ballad "Let's catch a cart, small or big, this night is crazy".

mySky includes three basic modes - "identify", "find" and "guided tour". In "same" mode - you will be presented with a real view of the night sky, including the constellation to which the device is aimed. If you want to locate something in the sky (planet, comet or galaxy, etc.) - you can navigate through the menus, select the desired item, and the smart mySky will indicate its location in the sky above you. In the "guided tour" mode - mySky will take you on a tour among the stars available in your sky, depending on the location, date and time.

The device includes a data base of more than 30 grams of sky (planets, just stars, nebulae, galaxies and more - about ten times what the eye can see). The information is displayed on an LCD screen with a resolution of 234x480 in full color, with the option of a red display to facilitate night viewing. It also has a red aiming beam, to easily point and aim at the star you wish to observe.

More than 500 narrated multimedia presentations are contained within this toy, including scientific information, photographs, folklore and mythology. Of course, you can also listen to the stories with high-quality headphones attached to the device (so as not to disturb the residents of the neighborhood, assuming that you will do your astronomy studies at night). As befits a modern electronic gadget, it is equipped with a 256 MB memory card, and the company even offers software upgrades on its website. And the price? Rather not in the sky (literally) - 199 dollars. we fell in love
