Medisafe, a start-up company from Haifa that operates the world's leading platform for managing medication intake on smart phones, with over 1.7 million downloads among mobile users, will present an application for the Apple Watch - Apple's new watch - as part of the "IATI-Biomed 2015" exhibition. Offering consumers a new channel to manage their medication intake, straight from their wrist. The application is among the first applications available to the owners of the recently launched watch and it will be displayed in the special start-up booth that will be set up at the exhibition under the auspices of the chief scientist and the research and development department.

Among the main features of the app for the watch: Force Touch technology, which allows the user to respond to updates and reminders quickly, mark that a medicine has been "taken" and keep up to date with relevant content and resources in the field of health that are currently available in the iPhone app. Use of "Glance", a function that allows the user to easily view medication doses and planned reminders.

"The Medisafe app for Apple Watch makes it even easier for patients to manage their medications and allows them to take responsibility for their health," says Medisafe CEO Omri Shor. "We announced in the past that we would position ourselves at the technological front, insofar as it would support and strengthen our approach to solving the problem of treatment non-persistence - an approach that focuses on the patient. Apple Watch not only makes it easier for our users to remember to take their medications, but also promises to provide patients with a more complete picture of their health status. The application even supports Apple's HealthKit, so that any data recorded through the Apple Watch sensors and the applications related to health and physical activity will be available to Medisafe users, in order to manage monitoring of important health and physical fitness data alongside persistence in drug treatment." Medisafe's solution currently allows the user's biometric data to be combined with his reports of adherence to medication, which makes it possible to see, for the first time, how taking the medication according to the prescription affects the user's health condition in the short and long term.

The Medisafe App for Apple Watch is available in the Apple Watch App Store. The Medisafe iPhone app is available today and can be downloaded for free on the App Store.

Medisafe users today who purchase an Apple Watch will simply need to update the iPhone app to enjoy all the benefits of the watch app. Since the application is an addition to the user experience on the iPhone, all user information will be accessible from the Apple Watch automatically.

The Medisafe app for the Apple watch will be unveiled as part of the special start-up booth that will be set up at IATI-Biomed Israel 2015 under the auspices of the Chief Scientist and TIMOP, the Israeli Industry Center for Research and Development.
