Soon, MITIP will join the organization TAFTIE (The European Network for Innovation Agencies) in which the leading implementing agencies of the European national programs are represented. This is after the chairman of Matimf, Yigal Ehrlich, received a letter of invitation from the acting president of Tafti, Dr. Martin Leys, president of "Enterprise Ireland".

Tafti brings together the representatives of the leading European countries in R&D and innovation issues, and is a central platform for formulating an intergovernmental R&D policy at the European level, and for initiating and defining new cooperative programs in Europe. Yigal Ehrlich participated in a Tafti conference held recently in Dublin and presented the policy of the Department for the encouragement of industrial R&D in Israel and how it is implemented by the R&D institutions.

In the letter of invitation, Dr. Leis mentions the extensive experience of Matimf in the fields of innovation and optimal operation of the chief scientist's international programs, which will certainly enrich the other members of the organization and add significant value to the organization's work.

The CEO of Matimf, Michel Hibbert, points out that Matimf will be the only non-European member of Tafty, a fact that indicates European recognition of Israel's position in the field of R&D and emphasizes that "our invitation to Tafty indicates the central position that Israel currently occupies in Europe in matters of innovation and entrepreneurship industrial". In addition, the joining of Tafti with the upcoming presidency of the "Eureka" program will allow us to attract European investments to R&D initiatives relevant to the Israeli industry, especially during the credit crisis period.

Hibbert also added that "during the process of joining Tafti, which was achieved by virtue and not by grace, we received the warm support of many countries with which Matimop has maintained good relations at the bilateral level for a number of years, especially Sweden, Finland, Turkey, Spain, France and Ireland".
