The Space Agency's Space Plant and Acubit will participate in a tender for atomic clocks for Galileo satellites

The aerospace industry's participation in tenders is possible after the State of Israel joined the European R&D program

A space plant of the Aerospace Industry in collaboration with the "Acubit" company, - are taking part in the tenders launched on behalf of the European R&D Union, for the development and production of atomic clocks for satellites and command and control stations in the "Galileo" program, which is the largest space program of the European Union. This program includes the development of navigation satellites for various applications, such as the American GPS system.

The aerospace industry's participation in tenders is possible after the State of Israel joined the European R&D program, with the company being a central factor in it. A key factor in Israel joining the program was the Ministry of Trade and Industry, headed by Minister Ehud Olmert.

Not long ago, the Mabat-Hellal plant signed a cooperation agreement with the Jerusalem-based "Acubit" company for the development, production and marketing of atomic clocks for satellites.

Atomic clocks are an essential component in the ability to determine the position of the satellite and carry out its tasks. The clocks are essential for observation satellites and low satellites, as well as the command and control stations that serve them. The clocks are able to provide a very accurate frequency source, which will accurately estimate the satellite's trajectory, supply signals for navigation, and synchronize between the satellites and the ground stations.

The Mabat Space plant is also expected to win tenders for the production of subsystems for satellites as well as to be integrated into the development of systems for the ground stations in the "Galileo" program.

As is well known, Mabat-Hellal deals with the development, production and launch of "Ofek" and "Eros" type observation satellites, the "Texar" radar observation satellite as well as the "Amos" communication satellites.

"Acubit" Ltd. operating in Jerusalem develops and manufactures atomic clocks, time and frequency products and precise synchronization systems. The company develops products for both the civilian and military markets.

As readers of the science will remember, Israel has invested considerable sums in a partnership with the Galileo Corporation, as a result of which access of Israeli companies to various tenders of the European project is possible.
