A delegation from Kazakhstan at the Hebrew University to learn about teaching, interdisciplinary research and technology commercialization

 A meeting with a delegation from Kazakhstan was held today at "Yishom", the technology commercialization company of the Hebrew University.

Today, a meeting was held at "Yishom", the technology commercialization company of the Hebrew University, with a delegation from Kazakhstan in which the following participated: the Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Byrganym Aitimova, the chairman of the Kazakh National Innovation Fund Nurbek Rayev, the adviser to the chairman of the Kazakh National Innovation Fund Erlan Tulekbayev Dr. ., as well as senior officials of the Hebrew University: University Rector Prof. Chaim Rabinovitch, Vice President and Chairman of the Research and Development Authority Prof. Hillel Berkoviar, CEO of "Yishom" Nava Savarsky Sofer and a number of academic faculty members. The delegation from Kazakhstan led by Deputy Prime Minister Karim Massimov arrived for a stay of several days in Israel.

The rector of the university Prof. Haim Rabinovitch said today that: "The purpose of the meeting is to present and promote the teaching and research at the university while cooperating in the fields of research, academic education, commercialization and technology transfer. The delegation from Kazakhstan is interested in getting to know the study and research programs
The interdisciplinary and practical research applications at the university. In addition to this, the delegation from Kazakhstan wants to learn from the "Yishom" company, which is one of the leading companies in the world in the field of commercialization and technology, how to promote the developments in Kazakhstan and make them commercial."

According to the Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Byrganym Aitimova, "Kazakhstan is trying to strengthen international collaborations and learn how to raise the level of technology commercialization." Today, Kazakhstan has a research budget of 17 billion tenge (about $135 million), and within six years there is a commitment to increase the budget to 350 billion tenge (about $2.77 billion).

The CEO of "Yishom" Nava Seversky Sofer, summarizes: "We are happy to host the Ramat Haderg delegation and share with them the many years of experience of "Yishom" in commercializing technologies. The "Yishom" company is satisfied with the emerging cooperation between the government of Kazakhstan and the Hebrew University on academic development and research.

According to Prof. Haim Rabinovitch, the teaching and research at the university, the leading research institution in the country of Israel, may serve as a model for Kazakh universities in order to promote academic activity in this country.
