The astronauts on the International Space Station will leave the station this week, as part of the preparations for the first cargo spacecraft expected to be sent by the European Space Agency.
Station Commander Gennady Padalka and Chief Scientist Michael Finke will install an antenna and other equipment to help direct the spacecraft, which is expected to arrive early next year. In the coming years, 7 cargo spaceships are expected to be sent, which will remain on the station for periods of up to 6 months, before being sent to Earth.
