Two Israeli companies were chosen to present to the heads of the world economy Israeli solutions to the world hunger crisis, at the main board meeting of the "Wall Street Journal" group that is taking place this week in Washington. The conference is attended by 120 CEOs of leading companies in the global economy, responsible for an income of approximately 2.9 trillion dollars per year. Among the speakers at the conference are John Bolton, the National Security Adviser of the White House, Steve Mnuchin, the US Secretary of the Treasury, Roberto Azevedo, Director General of the World Trade Organization, Kevin Hassett, Chairman of the White House Economic Council, Chairman of the Newsgroup Group Rupert Murdoch and more.

The one company that will represent Israel at the conference is WaterGen, which produces water from air and without electricity. The company's technology provides a cheap, abundant and renewable source of clean drinking water even in hot and arid places or in those that have experienced extreme weather events. Already today, the company operates around the world and helps local populations gain access to clean drinking water. The company brought its water device to the conference and those at the conference were amazed to drink quality water created from air.

The second company Flying Spark, which is part of the food incubator of the Strauss company (The Kitchen) and the Innovation Authority, produces food from protein extracted from fly bodies. Nutritionally, the protein of the food products produced by the company from fly carcasses does not fall short of other animal protein, and is cholesterol-free, without trans fat and rich in minerals, calcium, magnesium and iron. In addition, the company's technology enables protein consumption while maintaining a sustainable environment. The company will come to the conference with cookies based on the protein it produces. The senior CEOs did not hesitate to taste the special crackers with hummus spread on them.

The companies' participation in the conference was made possible as part of a collaboration between the Ministry of Economy and Industry and the Ministry of Strategic Issues and Advocacy as part of a global project for economic advocacy to reveal Israeli solutions to global problems.

Minister of Economy and Industry, MK Eli Cohen: "It has been known for a long time to all the countries of the world that Israeli technologies are changing the world. In almost every chosen field there is a breakthrough Israeli technology that changes the rules of the game: in cyberspace, in medical equipment, in the field of automobiles, agriculture, energy and also in the field of food which also includes the field of water. I am happy to see that even in a large conference like the WSJ's conference, they understand this and devote an entire section to Israeli companies. We at the Ministry of Economy and Industry will continue to help Israeli companies break into international markets and assist in whatever is required in order for us to continue presenting the world with groundbreaking technologies."

Minister for Strategic Affairs Gilad Erdan: "This is the real face of Israel. Israeli companies save lives around the world, provide access to clean water, and produce food solutions for millions of people around the world. The office I lead presents the truth about the State of Israel to influencers around the world in order to present Israeli innovation and Israel's important role in solving global problems."
