Israel and Ukraine: an agreement for cooperation in space

The two countries have a common interest: the Ukrainians specialize in radar launchers and satellites and Israel has extensive experience in the field of satellite communications

A first-of-its-kind space agreement between the governments of Israel and Ukraine was signed yesterday at the Mariinsky Royal Palace in Ukraine.

The agreement anchors the cooperation between the countries in the field of space exploration. The framework agreement between the two countries was signed in the presence of the head of the Israel Space Agency, Avi Har Even, and his Ukrainian counterpart, Alexander Naguda. Har Evan said that this is an agreement for cooperation in the field of space for civilian purposes only.

With the signing of the agreement, Ukraine joins other countries in the world, such as France and the USA, with which Israel has an agreement for cooperation in the field of space. The two countries have no interest in cooperating: the Ukrainians specialize in radar launchers and satellites and Israel has extensive experience in the field of satellite communications.

The space agreement states that the two countries can run joint programs in the field of space exploration and satellite observation.
