Iran has overtaken Israel in regards to higher education for a long time, but what can be done, it is apparently impossible to change people and religious people sometimes show chauvinism even without them thinking about it.

Iran's Ministry of Science and Higher Education prevents women from enrolling in 77 university departments on the grounds that they will not have employment once they graduate. This is according to the British newspaper Telegraph.

"Our experience in the past has shown that even if a woman graduates from these departments, she will not find a job in the field," said an official statement from the ministry, as well as "the departments for agriculture and mining do not suit women's nature: the statement said.

Now women will not be able to be engineers, scientists in the field of nuclear physics, archaeologists, nor study business administration and computers in 35 Iranian universities. Women are also prohibited from studying English literature, translation and hotel management.

An Iranian source quoted on the Turkish news website said that the move was aimed at creating "balance" in the higher education system. About 65% of the students in universities in Iran are women and among the graduates the ratio between women and men is the best in the world. But until something is good, it must be spoiled.

  1. Men constantly try to equal women - by depriving women of their basic rights. Only when the women undergo complete oppression, they begin to equal men. If it is mental or emotional (and sometimes even in appearance...see the women in Arab countries or of Arab origin, most of whom have nothing to do with femininity).

  2. Nissim, thank you for responding to my words
I don't think there's anything wrong with an open university, but I'm not the one who decides. As far as I know, you cannot become a doctor or nurse or professional if you study at the Open University. By the way, regarding the preference of 750 over 650, I don't think this is the only thing that needs to be determined. Not only those who know how to "get" excellent grades can be a doctor or a lawyer or whatever. Also virtues such as a desire to help others, adherence to a goal, a good heart are also things that should be taken into account. If a person contributes to society and wants to contribute so much, he also deserves to study where he chooses. As I said in my previous letter: if a school in Jerusalem that is considered elite - allows a great educator to claim that volunteering at a veterinarian, in order to help with animal surgeries, is an unsightly thing, makes me think twice or even three times if it is indeed an elite school as they claim. What's more, admission to the school is based on the occupation of the parents and if you have a sibling, who has already opened the front door for you.
Why can't all schools be elitist, everyone deserves a good education, everyone deserves to have real teachers who care about the children's education.
In fact, there are no equal opportunities for people in Israel. If you're not a student who can get spelling, or if you're not the son of... you'll probably have a hard time or maybe even impossible.
Unfortunately, when you submit your application, no one sees the person in you, your desire, your desire for a different reality, where not only those with 750 can contribute.
I think we forgot who we are..

It sounds to me like "oh oh oh". I think that admission to a university in Israel under protection is rare. I'm trying to understand why you want to prefer a person with a 650 on the psychometrics over the one who got a 750.

Vared - anyone who wants to can register and be admitted to the Open University. This is an excellent university. You don't need a psychometrician to study there.
    So what's wrong?

  4. Iran does this to its women - and it's terrible, it's human oppression
The education system in Israel does a similar thing to people whose educational achievements are not high, or who are not sons of... or to people who have no "connections". You can see it in the schools. For example, there is an "Elite" school in Jerusalem, where you are accepted into their school on the basis of family affiliation. For example, a senior officer - this is acceptable, or, for example, the son of a supreme court judge - extremely acceptable, with a pass.
Similar behavior can be seen in universities. If you have a psycho score of 750 or higher and have a high school diploma, or if you are the son of... or related, of course, you can become a doctor, a lawyer, and more.
What about people whose grades are not AII? Either they are from an average family or less or they have no connections, what then?
The big difference between Israel and Iran is that you can leave Israel - fulfill yourself in other places and then come back stronger and right to help change things.

  5. For "someone" I am not against equality. Your response shows how much you haven't read the entire article. The fuller sentence is as follows: "About 65% of the students in universities in Iran are women and among the graduates the ratio between women and men is the best in the world. But until something good….”. Now I hope you (or you) understand my response. 65% to one side or the other is not equality. And one more thing for those who have difficulty with reading comprehension. Equals in this case means fifty-fifty.

  6. Avi Shalom, could you explain what your statement that "Iran has overtaken Israel in regards to higher education for a long time" is based on?

In what respect do they overtake us? Where are the references for this?

I would appreciate your answer, thanks in advance.

  7. Several comments to the article
    1. Precisely as an illustration to the article stating that Iranian women are not allowed to study at universities in their country,
A photo appears of a class in an Iranian university where women do appear.
    2. Iran is indeed a scientific power. My son, who is an academic in the field of physics, tells me about
A prominent Iranian presence at scientific conferences. At the same time, it seems to me (and this is based on the remaining only!)
Because science studies in Iran today are distinctly biased in directions that can be used for practical purposes
immediate and especially military purposes. Namely, physics, chemistry and engineering and especially in the applied aspects.
I assume that less applied fields such as: the humanities, society and life receive less appreciation there
and at least a financial investment, (at least from the point of view of the establishment and the allocated budgets).
    3. Apparently the Iranians are stronger than us in other areas as well.
For example, in Islamic studies perhaps?

  8. Emmanuel, there is a separation of women from men on buses when they sit in the back, they will also not be able to appear on stage because the vengeful god of the doss will rip their ass off in their imaginary world, and the really sad part is that they are multiplying so quickly, that you will have to break out a civil war for there to be a change True.

  9. Eran, I tend to agree with you about the trend and it is very sad
But for now give us the benefit of the doubt

Trends can be interrupted by historical events

  10. Yossi, I didn't understand, are you against equality between women and men in universities?

  11. One puzzling sentence caught my attention "The relationship between women and men is the best in the world." But until something is good, you have to spoil it." The sentence refers to the high proportion of women among university graduates in Iran. What exactly is "good" about it??

  12. The truth is that I was also surprised by this statement and I would be happy to hear what it is based on.

  13. "Iran has been overtaking Israel in regards to higher education for a long time, but what can be done"

This is a new thing for me!!

I didn't know that Iran overtakes Israel in everything related to higher education

Who wrote this sentence and can he add links

As far as I know, the Israeli universities are ranked much higher than those of the Khomeinis

  14. With 60 percent less of an educated force, Iran was a backward country with no ability in scientific development including the atomic issue.
