The latest research committee chaired by the chief scientist at TMT, Dr. Eli Ofer approved 9 new R&D programs with an investment of NIS 24.6 million. A total of NIS 11.6 million was approved as R&D grants from the chief scientist's budgets
In the field of communications, the committee approved two projects with an investment of NIS 8.7 million, of which the R&D grant was NIS 4.1 million. The committee approved 2 projects with an investment of NIS 6.6 million, of which the R&D grant was NIS 3 million.
In the other fields - chemistry, biotechnology, medical equipment and miscellaneous, the committee approved 5 programs with an investment of NIS 9.3 million, of which the R&D grant was NIS 4.4 million.
Among the projects approved by the committee, projects of Bio-Lev and Bio-B companies that were submitted as part of the Eureka program - a European program for cooperation in industrial R&D in which the State of Israel is a member - will be highlighted.
Also, a project of a basic oils company was approved within the framework of the traditional industry program managed by the Office of the Chief Scientist. The new program that started operating this year is designed to help the traditional industry enterprises to develop a new strategy based on technological differentiation, thereby creating competitive advantages for the enterprise in the local and global market. In accordance with the new plan, the Bureau of the Chief Scientist will support and encourage the implementation of new technologies and R&D in the traditional industry by providing individual help and advice in the submission of the plans by representatives of the Bureau, as well as referring suitable companies to find partners for R&D abroad and to buy complementary technologies.
