The OPTSAT 3000 observation satellite and the first civil satellite of its type, Venus, produced by the Aerospace Industry, will be launched during 2016 by a European launcher of the "Vega" type (Vega) of the largest launcher manufacturer in Europe Arianespace from the launch site on Kourou Island, in French Guinea.

OPTSAT 3000 is a 400 kg observation satellite with high resolution. The satellite is part of a wider series of electro-optical satellites produced by the aerospace industry and active in space with great success. OPTSAT 3000 has high maneuverability and great operational flexibility, among other things thanks to its significantly lower weight compared to similar satellites in the world, a weight achieved using innovative and advanced miniaturization technology developed by the Aerospace Industry. The satellite has a resolution of 50 cm, which allows the detection of small details on the ground, and places the satellite at the global forefront of observation satellites. The satellite was purchased by the Italian government in 2012.

The Venus research satellite (VENμS - Vegetation and Environment on a New Micro Satellite) is a collaboration between the Israeli Space Agency and the French Space Agency (CNES) to develop and operate a satellite that will monitor the impact of climate changes on agricultural fields using multi-spectral photography technology.
