Yitzhak Nissan In 2006, the aerospace industry, for the first time in its history, crossed the 4 billion dollar line by signing new contracts. These amounted to 4.088 billion dollars, a 22% increase compared to the company's contract performance in 2005 - 3.4 billion dollars.

New export contracts amounting to $3.6 billion were signed with foreign customers in 2006 - 88% of all contracts compared to $2.7 billion in 2005, an increase of 35%.

Of the total contracts in 2006 - 1.8 billion dollars (45%), were in the civil sector compared to 1.45 billion dollars in 2005 - an increase of 26%.

The CEO of IAI, Yitzhak Nissan, said that: "The company's achievements in 2006 are particularly notable in light of the intense competition that exists in the international markets with the giants of the aerospace industry. This achievement expresses the technological and business advantage of the aerospace industry vis-à-vis its customers in Israel and abroad. Increasing exports in 2006 from the state of our senior position also in the list of the country's exporters".

Nissan also added: "In 2006, the company's marketing system is refreshed both from an organizational and personal perspective. The Aerospace Industry is preparing during 2007 to sign additional large-scale projects abroad, and professional teams have even been established to deal with the issue."

The Aerospace Industry is also steadily increasing its investments in R&D, as a support for the company's product portfolio, with the aim of increasing its activity in additional areas," Nissen concluded his words.
