This is an image of the elongated spiral galaxy NGC 6217. This is the first image of a celestial object taken by the new ACS camera installed on the Hubble Space Telescope. The camera was brought on the STS-125 space mission in May, which was sent to upgrade the Hubble.

The elongated spiral galaxy NGC 6217 was imaged on June 13 and July 8, 2009, as part of Hubble's observation and camera alignment.

The galaxy lies about 6 million light years from here in the constellation Ursa Major.

  1. The camera can be purchased at Walla Shops, Neena Shops and Sex Shops. It comes with an MP4 and a connection to an i-phone

  2. A really impressive picture. Another proof that physics is an artist (artist...) that no human artist can compare to. (Not related to physics, but still).
