Happy 16th birthday to the Hubble Space Telescope

To mark the 16th anniversary of the deployment of the Hubble Space Telescope, NASA and the European Space Agency decided to publish the image of the spectacular galaxy M82.
The attached image is the most detailed wide-angle image of M82 taken to date. The galaxy is spectacular due to its bright blue disk, networks of cloud tears, and due to fiery plumes of hot hydrogen erupting from its central region.
The photo was taken in March 2006.
