A satellite and space laboratory will be established in the new science center in Herzliya, within the framework of which the students of the city will design and build a "nano-satellite" that will be launched into space in about 3-5 years. The laboratory will be established as part of an agreement signed between the Science Center in Herzliya and INSA - the Israeli Association for Miniature Wines. This was announced by the mayor, Yael German, at the space conference of the Fisher Institute on the fifth anniversary of the Columbia disaster. At the conference, German met with the Minister of Science, Culture and Sports, Galev Majadala, who was impressed by the project and indicated that his office would support it and even encourage outstanding Arab students to participate in it

As part of the third international space conference held by Ilan Ramon in Herzliya, the mayor of Herzliya announced that a satellite and space laboratory will be established in the new science center in Herzliya, within the framework of which the students of the city, who will study in a unique curriculum, will design and build a "nano satellite" that will be launched into space in about 3-5 years. The laboratory will be established as part of an agreement signed between the Science Center in Herzliya and INSA - the Israeli Association for Small Satellites.

The conference was also attended by the Minister of Science, Culture and Sports, Galeb Majadala, who was impressed by the project and stated in his meeting with German that his office would support the project and even encourage Arab students who excel in the sciences to participate in the project.

According to German: "Advanced scientific and technological education is the infrastructure for national growth in all areas, including security, industry, energy, health and economy. I see it as a national duty to cultivate the scientific and technological professions that statistics show that among students in Israel there is little interest in them. We realized a vision in Herzliya and established the science center with a total investment of about NIS 10 million, which began operating at the beginning of the year. The center will cultivate a scientific reserve and encourage the students to study science and advanced technology in the belief that its graduates will glorify the strength and power of the State of Israel."

According to the spokesperson of the association for small satellites, Midad Farinta: "The association, led by Dr. Raz Tamir, sees tremendous potential in this cooperation and welcomes it. Since one of the goals of the association is the promotion of technological education in general and the strengthening of science in particular, the members of the association see the establishment of the "Insa Youth Division" at the Science Center in Herzliya as an important mission and a national mission."

The new science center in Herzliya was established in the complex shared by the three schools: Yad Giura middle school, the new high school and the engineers high school - Herzliya. 8 multi-purpose science laboratories were established in the building, over 3 floors. Instead of preparation centers for experiments and special rooms, where the students carry out the scientific projects. A patent center for teenagers is also established in the science center.

  1. For Roy, the situation is really not what you think it is, they have been talking about launching this satellite for 9 years (since 2003) and nothing is happening.
The main reason for this is that the head of this project, Anna Heller, constantly worries about intrigues and conspiracies, she does not understand that if she is on the clean path she will get what she wants.
And in short, instead of making a good name for Israel, this project only makes a bad name!!! Believe me.

  2. Very beautiful, and I am sure that the project will contribute a lot to the children of the city.
It's just a shame that they established the center in Herzliya and not in Yeruham, Ofakim, Sderot, or any other Sefer settlement
