A billion Chinese are not wrong

In the capital of China, it was decided to store the rainwater for watering gardens

The Beijing Water Authority has decided to build over 500 rainwater collection facilities in the city, in addition to the 55 existing facilities. The average amount of rain that fell in the Beijing area this year was even lower than the year before, which was a year of drought.

The Beijing Water Authority calculated and found that the amount of rain that falls in the urban areas and can be used reaches 230 million tons per year. The construction of the additional facilities will allow the collection of rainwater to increase from 1.25 million tons to 40 million tons per year.

The collected water, the Chinese say, will be used to water public gardens, wash cars, put out fires and more. The idea, you will agree, is not bad at all.
