The company's revenues for the three months that ended on June 30.6.09, 18.0 totaled $82 million, an increase of 9.9% compared to the $2008 million revenues recorded in the corresponding quarter in 3. The increase in sales is mainly due to the start of the commercial operation of Amos-2008 during the third quarter of XNUMX.

The operating profit for the second quarter of 2009 totaled 6.9 million dollars compared to 4.5 million dollars in the corresponding period last year. The EBITDA (earnings before taxes and depreciation) for the quarter amounted to 13.9 million dollars compared to 7.7 million dollars in the corresponding quarter in 2008.

The financing expenses in the quarter were mainly due to the drop in the dollar exchange rate and amounted to a total of 14.0 million dollars, which brought the company to a loss after tax in the amount of 3.9 million dollars for the quarter. On a non-GAAP basis (not including the adjustment of the options component in the convertible bonds) the loss for the second quarter of this year amounted to approximately 2.8 million dollars.

The Space-Communication company also stated that the Amos-4 and Amos-5 satellite programs continue to progress, with the Amos-5 satellite planned for launch in early 2011, and the Amos-4 to be launched during 2012. Both satellites will be launched for the first time to new sky positions in space that will be added to the point where the Amos satellites are currently operating -2 and Amos-3, and will add satellite coverage areas in developing markets in Africa and Asia to the basket of satellite services currently offered by the company.

Space-Communication expects that with the commercial operation of Amos-5, the company's sales volume will increase significantly due to the doubling of the scope of satellite communication services that it will be able to provide, and this is because the scope of Amos-5's communication services is greater than the ability to provide the services currently provided by Amos-2 and Amos satellites -3 together.

Halal-Communications recently announced the signing of a service agreement with a European company for the distribution of multi-channel satellite TV on Amos-3, such as YES in Israel, for a total amount of approximately 17 million dollars for the next 11 years. The new satellite TV platform is the fourth platform broadcast on Amos satellites and joins the three existing platforms: YES in Israel, BOOM in Romania, and THome SatTV in Hungary.

David Polak, CEO of Halal-Communications, stated today that "the company continues to demonstrate strong growth in its business activity due to the successful operation of Amos-3, which enables the expansion of satellite communication services, such as the fourth satellite television platform (DTH) on Amos satellites that was recently added in Europe ". Polk added that "the expected activation of Amos-4 and Amos-5 satellites in the coming years outlines the continuation of the growth trend".
