The "Scientists and Inventors of the Future" program was inspired by the vision of the President of the State Mr. Shimon Peres and was designed to promote scientific and technological excellence in Israel.

This unique program opens up for talented and creative young people a fast track to integration into the fascinating world of research and development already while studying in high school, and builds the future team of entrepreneurs and researchers in academia and industry. At the same time, they are exposed to experiences in the hi-tech and biotechnology industry alongside opportunities to get to know and meet new friends whose interests are the same.

Until now, the program has operated at Tel Aviv University, the Technion and Ben Gurion University. In the next academic year, XNUMX, the program will also begin operating in the Jerusalem area at the Hebrew University and in the northern area - at Tel Hai Academic College, which is the first college in Israel to join this prestigious program.
A wide spread ensures that the opportunity to participate in the program will be open to suitable students from both the periphery and the center of the country. The director of the Academic Center for Youth in Tel-Hai, Dr. Mayra Shenk: "The students who will be admitted to it will combine academic studies in the fields of science alongside work in advanced research laboratories and knowledge-rich industrial companies."

Female and male students are located in the XNUMXth grade and participate in the program for four years (XNUMXth to XNUMXth grade). Graduating students will be able to convert part of their studies into credit points at a higher education institution as well as convert their participation in research into a final thesis in high school.
The registration process for the program is carried out online on the program's website: www.fsi-israel.org. Registration for the program will be until March 19, 2014. Anyone interested is invited to register.

Dr. Rachel Zorman, director of the Henrietta Sold Institute, which sorts the candidates in the initial stage, emphasizes: "The selection of the candidates does not depend on their grade sheet. We are looking for students who want to develop cures for cancer, those who want to develop computer applications, curious and creative students in the fields of science, mathematics and technology, who want to initiate, research and invent new things. That is why the tests focus mainly on the ability to think in science and technology, as well as on social skills and abilities. The selection is made in two stages: in the initial stage, online registration for the program on the program's website. Enrollees go through a screening process by the Sald Institute in which mathematical and scientific thinking and spatial reasoning ability are tested. In the second stage, suitable candidates are invited to a screening at the Tel-Hai Academic College where abilities such as thinking, dealing with new challenges and working in collaboration are evaluated."
