The National Quality Award was awarded to Alta Systems, the subsidiary company of the Aerospace Industry

Elta Systems, a subsidiary of Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) today received the Yitzhak Rabin National Quality Award, as part of the 16th International Quality Conference that opened this morning in Tel Aviv.

The Deputy Prime Minister, Shimon Peres, who presented the VP of the TAA and CEO of Elta Systems, Nissim Hadas, with the award, praised the founding of Elta in Ashdod about forty years ago, noting that the city became flourishing and prosperous thanks to Elta.

"Alta deals with the most sophisticated issues, and in some of them it is a leader in the world, such as the radar systems, which are well ahead of them," said Mr. Peres. Peres also pointed out that the international conference on quality highlights the world of quality, which occupies an important place in innovative developments, and is a meeting of great and unexpected qualities.

The CEO of Elta Systems, Nissim Hadas, stated in his words that: "Elta is known for its work and education for excellence and uncompromising quality. The systems developed at Alta are operational on land, in the air and at sea, including the systems that took part in the capture of the terrorist ship 'Karin A'."

Hadas also said that about 3000 people work at Alta, who are engaged in innovative developments and also provide subcontracting work to other factories in Israel. "Nearly 90 percent of the factory's products are intended for export to many countries in the world, both in the field of radar and electronic warfare (EL) systems, and in the field of communication systems of all kinds. Elta is facing the giants in the world", added the CEO of Elta.

Projected business data of Alta Systems for the end of 2006: contracts totaling 900 million dollars, sales of 770 million dollars and a net profit of approximately 60 million dollars.
