'Dor Lama' is a non-profit association that has been operating for the fifth year with the aim of exposing and making the world of science and technology accessible to children and teenagers from underprivileged populations.
The establishment of the association comes from the recognition that there is a social and moral obligation to try and reduce the existing gaps in education among students from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds.
The activity of the association is based on instructors with a proven scientific background, as well as volunteers, people of science, society and spirit who have come together for this important and valuable goal.
Prof. Dan Shechtman, winner of the 2011 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, serves as the association's president.

Wize is a social organization operating since 2011 to promote science, culture, knowledge and technology to the general public. The core of our activity is the production of events that combine content and entertainment. So far, we have produced over 700 lectures in bars in 16 different cities in Israel, to which more than 200,000 people who take part in one of the largest social communities in Israel have been exposed.

According to the CEO of the Dor Ladem Association Sofi Adi: "At the beginning of the association's activity, which began at the Mbasret Zion reception center, we received from the Jewish Agency a small building that was used as a scientific center, a space with an activity room, a kitchen, a warehouse, and toilets. Many children came to the place every week and were exposed to different scientific topics every week, states of aggregation, surface area, equilibrium of the solar system, Newton, Einstein and more... The activities are delivered in an experiential and accessible way. The instructors are students with a proven scientific background as well as volunteers - Intel engineers, doctors and more. We received a certificate of appreciation from the Jewish Agency for our activities."

"For two years now, the Mevsaret reception center has been under threat of closure. However, despite the uncertainty, we have continued to work for the immigrant children at the Mesveret reception center and outside of it in Be'er Sheva, Jerusalem, Ofakim, Kiryat Gat, Kiryat Bialik. Now the threat of closure is real. There is a closing date, which is September 1 2017. We need a place for a home - which will serve as a scientific center in the heart of a neighborhood of immigrants and vulnerable populations - an accessible place, which will expose the children to the world of science that surrounds us and its concepts within easy reach within walking distance of the house."

"We need money, to locate such a center for its equipment and operation to promote and improve the chances of immigrants and weak populations to assimilate into society and to create an opportunity to close gaps."
