The science communication site will access science at eye level: Davidson Institute, the educational arm of the Weizmann Institute of Science, is launching a scientific content website, in which about 50 scientists, writers and editors from the Weizmann Institute of Science and the Davidson Institute for Science Education are partners.

The site includes many articles and sections in all fields of science: news items, in-depth articles, scientific explanations of current issues, expert answers to surfers' questions, "the day before" - history of science, riddles and videos with scientific demonstrations accompanied by explanations.

This site is a continuation of the digital concept of the Davidson Institute, which has signed several innovative digital projects in the field of making science accessible, including the "HaMokh" and "HaMokh Junior" applications, which have reached approximately 400 downloads in a short period of time and are very popular among the general public, e-learning courses For students and enrichment and through the various projects that include the "Scientific Education Week", lectures for the general public, conferences on science communication, science exhibitions, competitions and more.

Over the past year, a comprehensive and experienced team of the Davidson Institute worked on the development of the new website and the construction of the content system with the assistance of media personnel, scientists, development personnel and designers. The new site is edited by Itai Nebo, former senior editor and science reporter of Network B.

Dr. Ariel Heyman, CEO of the Davidson Institute for Science Education, said: "Our vision is to make science accessible to every home in Israel in a popular and equal way for every soul. I hope to leverage science in a similar way to the leverage that the economic press has made for the economy and consumerism in Israel. If in the past the economy was reserved for a handful of managers and businessmen and in niche sections, today the economy has become a popular field of interest for the general public and a topic of conversation where everyone is interested, understands or asks. We believe that the accessibility of science is of the utmost importance, especially in the current era where scientific and technological skills are common property and have a part in influencing the quality of life and the quality of the society in which we live. A society that understands science, that thinks science and is driven by science is a better, progressive and developed society."

  1. I really didn't like the design of the site, everything is too big and you have to scroll a lot to find something.

Reduce it a bit, it's not comfortable to read.
