The Israeli De-Ta Biotech company, which provides scientific biological services and engages in molecular research and development, among other things, will present as part of the ILSI-Biomed 2011 conference and exhibition, which will be held in Tel Aviv between May 21-23, advanced methods that may help in the early diagnosis of the causes of diseases or genetic diseases in animals and prevention Unnecessary risks for the animals and the people near them.

The company offers veterinarians and breeders a very simple test system, which includes, among other things, a special toothpick and a capsule to maintain the quality of the sample until it arrives at the laboratory, a test with high sensitivity and accuracy, which enables the detection of the presence of pathogens such as viruses, parasites and bacteria. Correct identification of the cause of the disease enables appropriate and effective treatment already in the first stages. Until today, when a blood sample was produced from an animal, it was necessary to freeze the blood, or dry it, with the risk of exposure to moisture and dirt. The special capsule allows the sample to be shipped on a toothpick or absorbent paper and stored for up to 3 and a half years without the need for any additional action and without refrigeration, an ideal situation especially for the Israeli weather. "Our solution ensures that the quality of the sample is maintained during its transport, a critical issue for identifying disease symptoms that are present in a small amount in the first stages before the outbreak of the disease. Thus, in the case of tick fever in dogs, which can cause systemic damage and even death," explains Dr. Rinat Borshantin-Korach, entrepreneur and director of the De-Ta Biotech company.

"Identifying diseases in animals in the early stages is important, because there are viral diseases in animals that can harm humans," says Dr. Burshantin-Korach. "Thus, in the case of tick fever, rabies or hepatitis in dogs that can cause systemic damage and even death. Or in situations of toxoplasmosis, which is not felt in the cat, but is dangerous for the human fetus, the cat's owner is pregnant, or when it comes to diseases that attack birds, such as bird flu."

The "ILSI-Biomed Israel 2012" week has become, in its more than ten years of existence, an international conference in which the biggest (and hottest) names in the world from the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and medical devices take part every year. The organizers of the event, the Israeli Life Sciences Association - ILSI - and the "Kens" company, estimate that among the thousands of expected participants - CEOs and executives of biopharma and medical device companies, scientists and researchers, entrepreneurs, shapers of public opinion in the field, managers of venture capital funds and private investors - There will also be over 1,000 guests from abroad.

The "ILSI - Biomed Israel 2012" week will be held between May 23 and 25 at the David Intercontinental Hotel in Tel Aviv.
