Here are some examples that the war against an enemy driven by clearly irrational religious motives is not enough to understand that we need to be rational and show sense. On the contrary, it seems that in such a period, logic is a dirty word. Here is a collection of three news items published in recent days on Israeli news sites.

The YENT website reports (by the way, without any criticism but as a "fact" or perhaps a "curiosity") that the members of the Scientology sect, who volunteered to help the residents of the north staying in the shelters, also spread their teachings there. It turns out that in recent weeks hundreds of booklets of the book "The Way to Happiness", written by the sect's founder, Ron Hubbard, and dozens of spiritual guidance booklets have been distributed to the children in the northern shelters. In addition, at least seven anxiety sufferers were personally treated by Scientology spiritual guides, and members of the sect delivered activities to hundreds of children in shelters. At the end of the activity, the members of the sect distributed pamphlets written by the founder of the sect, Ron Hubbard.
The members of the cult arrived last Friday at the health center in Tiberias, where they introduced themselves as "volunteer spiritual advisors" and said that they came to help due to the emergency situation in the north. In a letter addressed to the members of the cult obtained by ynet, Maria Birenboim, director of the organization, wrote: "In recent days, we as Scientologists are required to go above and beyond to stop the war in the north."
Satanism
Although the following story is not related to the war, it is still related to the fact that rationalism among many elements of Israeli society is a dirty word, and the parents of a poor young man are paying the price. The Nene website reports that the police arrested a 16-year-old youth suspected of being the leader of the "Satan cult" on Monday. He admitted that he had been active in the cult for about 4 years, since he was 12 years old. During his investigation, he discovered chilling details about the rituals he conducted with his friends. Two of them were arrested with him, but were released to their homes.
The young man described to the police the average appearance of a member of the Satanic cult - full black clothing, bracelets in the form of spikes on his hands, shirts with symbols of heavy rock bands and/or drawings of a skull. In addition, the young man said that he and his friends used to break into cemeteries, abandoned buildings and schools, and spray symbols of the sect on the walls.
"The duty to kill the cats originates from the belief that when the cat looks in the mirror, the image of the devil is reflected in the mirror, therefore the cat must be killed and the devil's defiance must be prevented", this is how the suspect explained the killing of the cats, which characterizes the cult.
According to him, there are special dates for holding the worship. The 6th of June every year and the 13th of every month are considered holy days for the Satanic religion. During these holidays the cult members slaughter many cats and drink their blood. The police said that charges will be filed against the suspects in the coming days.
