A special invite-only lecture session is currently being held at the International Astronautical Congress in Daejeon, Korea, presenting current trends related to the field of commercial and private spaceflight (also known as "space tourism", although this definition does not cover the entire field).

Space entrepreneur Richard Lawson, who heads the Rocketplane company from the USA, talked about the new directions of the commercial space plane that the company is developing, which is currently designed not only to carry tourists into space but to be used in a variety of research and technological demonstration missions.

Among the tasks from Lawson's destination to the commercial space plane, it is possible to mention the launch of small satellites (at this stage it is a rather marginal launch capacity of about 50 kg), the flying of various scientific experiments that require microgravity, the use of different types of photo pods (light visible, AA, radar and multispectral) for diverse purposes, as well as use for the purpose of shielding astronauts, especially NASA, whose access to space will be extremely limited for a few years when the flights of the space shuttle cease.

A representative of EADS Astrium presented economic analyzes concerning the operation of the space plane developed by Astrium and expected to fly for the first time in 2012. A representative of the American space agency NASA took seriously the role that will be played by private and commercial space planes in the coming years, noting that the Ames Space Center in California currently leads NASA's research programs "A for the use and exploitation of the commercial capabilities of the space planes, which began through them as a whim and a vision of a few.

  1. It makes the most sense that the money for this research would come from companies.

The problem is that in the future these companies will get ownership of land and then the whole moon will belong to the Hilton company for example, and Mars will belong to the Pepsi corporation.

Short - THE FUTURE SUX, just like in the Madob movies.

  2. A, what other people do with their money is really none of your business and not subject to your criticism.

  3. More toys for trillionaires…

It is more rational to spend the money and resources on access to medicine, food and infrastructure, but hey? who cares? Long live capitalism
