In the capacity of Vice President of China, the sixty-fourth convention of the International Astronautical Federation opened this morning in Beijing. This year's conference is the largest of its kind, and nearly three thousand six hundred people, from dozens of countries, are participating in it.

The conference was held in Beijing for the second time, in cooperation with the Chinese Space Agency, the Chinese Astronautical Association, the International Academy of Astronautics and the International Institute of Space Law and Justice.

The sixty-fourth convention of the International Astronautical Federation opened this morning in Beijing, China.

The head of NASA, ESA, Roscosmos, the space agency of Japan, China, India and Canada participated in the panel of the heads of the space agencies, which opened the convention. The heads of the agencies presented the activities of the bodies they head, from last year. In the discussion that took place, the fear of space debris was raised by most of the participants, and the head of the European Space Agency, Jean-Jacques Durdin, said, "I would like to pass on to the next generation of spacemen, the same space free of man-made debris, in which I started operating years ago ".

The speakers emphasized the importance of international cooperation, to promote the occupation of space and its utilization for peaceful purposes. However, when NASA head Charles Bolden was asked why there would not be cooperation in space between China and the USA, like the "Apollo-Soyuz" mission that took place between the USA and the USSR in July 1975, Bolden avoided giving a direct answer, stating Because the USA and NASA are busy with various space ventures, and they concentrate only on them.

At the same time as the conference, a large space exhibition was opened at the Beijing International Convention Center, where the Chinese manned spacecraft "Shen Zhou 10", which carried out a docking mission to the Chinese space station "Tiangong 1", is also displayed. The crew of the spaceship, three Tekonauts, also participated in the conference.

The 2015 Space Conference will be held in Jerusalem.
