An imaging device for the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, a non-puncture blood glucose meter and cartilage ready for transplantation

A second set of announcements for the Biomed conference that will be held on June 5-7 in Tel Aviv

For the first time, a three-dimensional imaging device for the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer
This is how we will fight breast cancer: the Helix company has developed a new imaging device, with the help of which doctors will receive high-quality three-dimensional images of the breast. The new scanner automatically scans the entire breast tissue and produces an ultrasound image of the breast in a rotating motion. The three-dimensional result prevents misses and makes it easier to find breast cancer. During the examination, it is even possible to integrate an automatic robot hand, under computer control, to treat and remove a biopsy from the affected area.

Good news for diabetics: blood sugar level testing - without needling a needle
Pictured: the non-penetrating device for measuring blood sugar level, developed by the Orsense companyA device based on the transmission of optical signals, is able to measure the level of sugar in the blood without any need for a needle. Operation is ingeniously simple: wear a small measuring ring on your finger. The ring exerts pressure on the finger, stops the blood flow for a few seconds and sends optical signals that reach the blood vessels in the finger. It is able to test, among other things, different components of the blood, such as sugar, hemoglobin or oxygen. The measurement data is transferred to a small screen. The OrSense company's development is intended for diabetics and will enable frequent measurements and better control of the disease.

The development enables the serial production of cartilages for the treatment of damaged joints. The development is an innovative approach: the cartilage is extracted from the jaw joint of day-old piglets. These cells are unique in their ability to create quality joint cartilage, and based on this source of cells, the injured will receive new cartilage. The price of the treatment is expected to be significantly lower compared to the accepted process today, in light of the possibility of serial production of the cartilages.

  1. I would like to know where this device can be purchased
To measure sugar level without needling?

  2. What is all this worth in Israel if for a doctor to even spit at you you have to give him some 100 NIS bills?
    There is no public medicine
A sucker who pays for health insurance
