The international space exhibition Beyond Planet Earth - presented at Medatech - the National Museum of Science, Technology and Space in Haifa

The exhibition has so far been shown at the Museum of Natural History in New York and the Science Center in Toronto, will be shown in the next six months in Haifa

The International Space Exhibition Beyond Planet Earth, which was exhibited at the American Museum of Natural History in New York and the Ontario science-center Toronto Canada has arrived in Israel and will be exhibited beginning in mid-March at Medatech, the National Museum of Science, Technology and Space in Haifa for six months.

The exhibition presents the vision of the future of human travel in the solar system and beyond. It is a joint development of the museum in New York and Medetech and deals with the expected future of space exploration - technologies that are under development, research goals and journeys in the solar system and the possibilities facing the human race when it comes to leave Earth.

In the exhibition you can find innovative and fascinating exhibits such as: a permanent base on the moon with a large model of inflatable living quarters, which house four astronauts, a special lunar elevator, designed to transfer rare materials from mines on the moon back to Earth, a huge model of the asteroid Itokawa from which materials were collected by the Japanese space vehicle "Hyabusa".

The planet Mars receives extensive attention in the exhibition, with a full-size model of the most sophisticated space laboratory located on the surface of the red planet today: "Curiosity". In addition, a futuristic space suit is shown, the audience experiences a scientific test to adapt living conditions on Mars to humans, and an illustration of a flight in the Martian sky. The journey takes us even further to the moons of the planet Jupiter and especially to the moon "Europa", which is considered the celestial entity with the greatest chances for the existence of life even beyond the borders of the solar system.

The human journey into space has been focused for several decades on orbits around the earth, after the shuttle program ended, and with the operation of the International Space Station. The Beyond Planet Earth exhibition presents the following steps: parting from the Earth, moving to a permanent station on the Moon, settling on Mars, landing on an asteroid and going to the farthest regions of the solar system and beyond. However, the exhibition also marks the most important milestones in summing up the first 50 years of space exploration.

The new exhibition turns imagination into reality. Scenarios that we have only encountered in science fiction and fantasy books and movies are woven into real possibilities. The fascinating exhibition is all an experience of looking into the future, both near and far, of research and manned journeys of the human race into the infinite expanses of space.

The curator of the exhibition is Dr. Michael Shaara, a senior astrophysicist and the curator of astrophysics at the Museum of Natural History in New York, where the exhibition was presented. Dr. Shaara has for many years been involved in the study of life on Mars and the ways to reach outer space and holds the position that space is closer to us than we think and ways of reaching and settling are not far from our reach. All this can be experienced with the help of the exhibits at the exhibition.

The exhibition will be on display for six months.

In addition to the new exhibition, during Passover, the Digital Manufacturing Revolution complex will be presented at Medatech, which includes a live demonstration of XNUMXD printers, XNUMXD model building software, XNUMXD scanning, a painting robot and films about the digital manufacturing revolution.
The complex will be open on March 27,28,30, 12, 00 at 16:00-29:10, and on March 00 14:00-XNUMX:XNUMX
