BASF and Landa Laboratories announced at the European Coatings Show (ECS) in Nuremberg, Germany, a long-term strategic partnership. As part of this exclusivity agreement, BASF will adopt Landa's revolutionary nanopigment technology, and market it under the Colors & Effects brand - a new portfolio of easy-to-disperse pigments with ultra-high transparency. This groundbreaking development will give unprecedented depth to paint, and will significantly simplify the production process of paints for the automotive industry.

"After thorough testing, we are very excited to team up with Landa in this groundbreaking venture," said Alexander Haunschild, Senior Vice President, Pigments, BASF. "We see the tremendous impact Benny Landa and his company have on the printing industry, and we are proud to bring this amazing technology to our customers in the automotive paint market. Landa and BASF have a long-term collaboration, which proves the commitment of both companies to differentiate our customers' businesses through new technology for challenging and demanding markets."

Landa's nano-pigment technology - originally developed for the printing industry - allows BASF to launch for the first time under the Colors & Effects brand a new generation of pigments, of the highest quality and uniform for the automotive industry. A narrow distribution of such tiny nano-pigments enables thinner coatings with richer color depth.

"We are proud to establish this global partnership with BASF and its Colors & Effects team," said Benny Landa, Chairman of the Landa Group. "The combination of technologies and expertise allows both companies to provide fantastic new products to the automotive industry. This synergistic alliance has tremendous potential for establishing an innovative tier and a significant breakthrough in this market."

"This is an unprecedented breakthrough in our industry," said Stefan Suetterlin, VP of Global Business Management, Pigments, BASF. "For decades, our customers have hoped for such progress in the industry. Using this technology allowed us to create a new range of products for automotive paints, and we are excited to announce this today at the European Coatings Show".
