Tonight (Sunday 18:22 Israel time) the shuttle Atlantis left the International Space Station for the last time. Atlantis docked at the station for seven days and 54 minutes. At the time of departure, the ferry and the station hovered over the Indian Ocean, southwest of Australia.

About half an hour later, the pilot Tony Antonelli made a lap of the new station to document and photograph the station in its current configuration, including the Rasvet component, which was brought up on the STS-132 mission - on the shuttle's spion at the beginning of the operation. All other members of the Atlantis crew pointed their cameras at the station.

During the seven days of the mission, in which three spacewalks were also performed, which were relatively mild, the Atlantis crew on the STS-132 mission and the 23rd crew of the space station worked together. Before parting, they appeared together at a joint press conference where they answered questions from the US and Japan. The teams also held the traditional parting ceremony before locking the hatches between the two spacecraft.

The shuttle Atlantis is expected to land for the last time at the Kennedy Space Center on Wednesday, May 26.

  1. Thanks. The system today responds very slowly and is difficult to update. I managed to upload an update in the meantime. Let's hope the issue will be resolved.

  2. To my father, please, you did not inform me about the landing

  3. Gentlemen, this is the end of an era.
It's a shame that as a result of Obama's cuts, nothing is in sight
