Dassault Systèmes, the 3DEXPERIENCE company, has confirmed its long-term collaboration with Airbus Safran Launchers, the main industrial supplier of Ariane 6, the European Space Agency's next-generation launcher. More than 700 engineers who work on the development of the Ariane 6 launcher. Across several sites in Europe, including partners, Dassault Systèmes solutions are used for building the system's architecture, detailed definition of the design, and examination and verification of the thrust force and the space vehicle.

Dassault Systèmes' dedicated industry solution "Winning Program" is an important element in the ability to perform a variety of trade-off studies, examine a large number of alternatives, and accelerate the decision-making process to achieve the most competitive configuration for Ariane 6. The chosen architecture, a digital asset of Airbus Safran Launchers, will be continuously optimized and validated throughout the development process.

Such digital assets are created and verified based on a collaborative digital model. Such a model helps to avoid mistakes, minimize changes, and contributes to cutting months from the development and introduction stages to production. Dassault Systèmes applications are used for process planning, a review of shared designs at an international level, and a review of the development plan while leveraging virtual reality, which enables a precise definition of the entire complex production process.

"Airbus Safran Launchers continues to build Ariane 6, based on the value and achievements created through Dassault Systèmes solutions in the construction of Ariane 5," said Alain Chermau, CEO of Airbus Safran Launchers. "These solutions, based on a digital model with high fidelity to reality, which can be shared with our process partners, continue to be at the heart of our industrial model for developing launchers across Europe."

The space sector is in fierce competition than ever before. Startups around the world and companies in emerging markets require more established businesses to transform their operations to provide more versatile, high-performance, and cost-effective launchers. The "Winning Program" solution was designed for aerospace companies looking to optimize early stages, and develop aerospace programs through planning, simulation and collaboration. With high levels of engineering detail and knowledge sharing available during the concept design process phase, Winning Program can significantly improve the ability to meet program costs, performance and schedule.

"We are proud to bring our innovation and performance partnership with Airbus Safran Launchers to a new level. In times of consumerization of space, our collaboration aims to design and develop launcher models focused on a new experience. We know from an early stage that Ariane 6 can be delivered within the budget, according to the definitions and on time," said Bernard Charles, CEO of Dassault Systèmes. "The dedicated solution of Dassault Systèmes for the space and aviation industry allows Airbus Safran Launchers to explore the possible, to cooperate with customers and across all fields and factors in the operating environment, and to define the most correct concept. Together we can harness the power of digital planning to change the industry."
