Achievements for the Israeli team in physics at the Asian Olympiad held in Australia

Israeli students won gold, silver, bronze and commendation medals. Israel will host the International Physics Olympiad this summer

The members of the Israeli physics team reached impressive achievements in the Asian Physics Olympiad, which took place during the last week in Australia: gold, silver, bronze medals and a commendation.

This summer, Israel is expected to host the International Physics Olympiad.

The members of the Israeli physics team that represented the State of Israel in the Olympiad are: Aviv Tillinger (Yaakov Hazan Democratic School, Kochav Yair) - gold medal, Eyal Wallach (Mosinzon School, Hod Hasharon) - silver medal. Eran Man (Mikif Tzfit School, Kfar Menachem, Malkish) - Bronze medal. Honorable Mentions were awarded to: Omri Rabad (Mikif Tzfit School, Kfar Menachem, Malkish) Liad Rubnik Tuitsch (School near the University in Jerusalem, Mashtaul) Teddy Kleitman (Sharet School, Netanya), Ziv Cohen (Iruni B. Rabin, Modi'in), Jonathan Hasson (Kfar Hirok School, Ramat Hasharon).

The Asian Physics Olympiad has been held since 2000 and the State of Israel has been competing in this framework since 2001. This year the Asian Olympiad was held in Australia and 200 students from 25 countries participated.

The Ministry of Education and the Center for Future Scientists of the Maimonides Foundation lead the training of students to participate in the various Olympics as part of a joint venture. The team of students who participated in the Asian Physics Olympiad was trained at the Husidman Center for Science Seeking Youth at Ben Gurion University of the Negev. The academic director, Prof. Hezi Yosef. The team that accompanied the Israeli physics team in Australia: the head of the delegation, Nitzan Artzi, the team's instructors - Gur Perry and Ben Feinstein and the educational consultant, Dagan Ashash.

Director General of the Ministry of Education, Shmuel Abuav: "I congratulate the team for its impressive achievement. Physics is one of the important locomotive engines of science, and therefore we see it as an important infrastructure for investment. As part of the national program, we are working to strengthen the studies in a course of 5 study units and increase the number of students in it in order to continue to march the State of Israel forward."

CEO of the Future Scientists Center, Eli Fried: "The Israeli team in physics has brought great pride to the State of Israel. The impressive achievements of the members of the delegation are the result of effort and perseverance together with the highest level of professional training they receive. Our students demonstrate abilities at a high level in front of students from all over the world and we intend to continue to provide them with quality tools, which will help them break through and reach personal and national achievements."

The Ministry of Education and the Future Scientists Center added: "We are excited about hosting the International Physics Olympiad in Israel this summer with the participation of dozens of countries around the world and we wish the members of the Israeli team to continue to succeed and lead."

The president of Ben Gurion University of the Bengav, Prof. Daniel Haimowitz: "We are proud of the students of the national physics team for their victory and achievements.

  2. Wow! Proud of you! I have no idea how you even get to this Olympics, but it's clear to me that you worked hard and succeeded and that's the most important thing 🙂
    By the way, does anyone know how the whole medal system works in this thing? Like I'm not disrespecting lol but what is the chance that we won all three first places (gold, silver and bronze)
