In a joint grants track between the Innovation Authority and the BARD Foundation, the binational fund for agricultural research and development of the USA and Israel, and the American National Institute of Food and Agriculture NIFA-USDA in the USA - it was decided to provide 8 development grants in the total amount of 7.2 million NIS. This is the first round of funding as part of a five-year program to support research and development in the fields of food and nutrition, which amounted to NIS 40 million. The American academy receives its share from NIFA-USDA, and the Israeli academy and society are funded by the grant allocated to the Israeli R&D.
