For the first time in the world, a unique model will be implemented in Israel in which technology companies, including Nexar, Moovit, Cognata Waycare and many others, will cooperate with each other and with public authorities as well as securely share anonymous data collected from users, with the aim of developing new models to prevent accidents, reduce traffic congestion, and improve infrastructure The ways and reduction of pollution.

The unique collaboration was carried out on the technological platform promoted by the "Israel Smart Mobility Living Lab" association and launched today (Sunday), with a joint investment of one million dollars with the Innovation Authority and the Smart Transportation Authority.

The new platform allows technology companies, universities and public bodies to share information as they choose and to access information that other bodies and companies have chosen to share, to create integration between the different types of information and to present the information in a way that is easy to process. In this way, the cooperation and information can be used by transport bodies, governments and local authorities to solve local and national challenges, by combining the forces of a large variety of types of information collected from different places, in a safe way (road users, roads, traffic cameras, etc.).

According to Samdar Itzkovich, CEO Israel Smart Mobility Living Lab: "The technological infrastructure we have built will form the basis for important national projects in which technology companies will for the first time give access to other companies and public bodies to their information, according to their choice, with the aim of solving common challenges together, such as traffic accidents, congestion, road infrastructure management and more. Our model is based on the "Data Trust" concept developed at MIT University, according to which the way to deal with complex problems is by sharing information on a secure platform, for the benefit of the public. We believe that the complex transportation challenges in Israel together with advanced technological capabilities in AI will make it a center of knowledge and innovation at the international level."

The union includes more than 20 technology companies, including Nexar, Blue White Robotics, See Mapping, Cognata, Mobility Insights, Safer Place, Moovit, HopOn, NoTraffic, Waycare and the Magal company. It also includes private entities such as the Clal insurance company and the Japanese insurance company - Sompo; International companies such as the Japanese NEC; Government companies such as Natibi Israel and the company Elta; Startups such as AD Knight and Adasky; Academic bodies such as MIT, KIT University and FZI in Germany and local and foreign authorities such as Ashdod and Karlsruhe (Germany). Among other things, the union maintains collaborations with Haralbed, NATA and Tel Aviv Municipality.

According to Dr. Aviv Zaevi, VP of Technological Infrastructure at the Innovation Authority: "This is an innovative project whose goal is to accelerate innovation and extract insights from data with the help of artificial intelligence, whose origins lie in information sharing and fostering synergy between high-tech companies in the face of challenging technological solutions in Israel and around the world. The goal is to strengthen and improve the competitive advantage of the industry in Israel in the worlds of smart and autonomous transportation. For the Innovation Authority this is an important strategic goal and therefore we have decided to provide professional and budgetary support in the promotion of a suitable digital infrastructure that will enable this. The great response from public authorities and high-tech companies and startups in the worlds of transportation and AI is heart-warming and is further evidence of the necessity of the platform and, of course, of the Israeli spirit that likes to mobilize to solve national challenges, especially through innovation and technology."
