Commendation from the Foundation for Gravity Research to Prof. Asher Yehalum from Ariel who offers an alternative to dark matter

Prof. Yaholum explained why the rotation speed of the matter in the galaxies does not decrease as you move away from the center of the galaxy starting from the outskirts, but remains the same or even increases * It is estimated that dark matter is involved in the process. According to Prof. Yahlom and his colleagues, these phenomena can be explained according to a theory known as the theory of delay - the amount of time it takes for the effect of an event in the center of the galaxy to spread to its edges.

Prof. Asher Yaholom, Physicist and deputy dean at the Faculty of Engineering, Ariel University, was awarded a 2021 commendation by the Gravity Research Foundation. The win was given for an explanation of the relationship between the light intensity of the galaxy and the speed of rotation of the material in its rim, a relationship that works contrary to Newton's laws.

The work of Prof. Asher Yahlom, a physicist from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Ariel University, has been awarded a commendation for the sixth time (the second time regarding the theory of gravitational retardation), from one of the most important institutions in research in this field, the Foundation for Gravitational Studies  Gravity Research Foundation . among the rest Professor Stephen Hawking The late, won several times in this competition. The goal of the Gravity Research Foundation is to encourage scientific research into the phenomenon of gravitation through its annual awards for essays on the subject. The background to the article that won this year is related to Prof. Yaholom's previous research, which explained why the speed of rotation of matter in galaxies does not decrease as you move away from the center of the galaxy starting from the edges, as Newton's theory predicts, but in many cases reaches a constant value and in other cases even increases with distance.

Tully-Fisher ratio

Tully-Fisher ratio Connects the luminosity of galaxies to the fixed rotation speed of the material at the edge of the galaxy (the luminosity is relative to the rotation speed in the fourth). The ratio is named after the astronomers who discovered it. Until now there has been no satisfactory explanation of why the Tully Fisher ratio exists. An explanation is given in the framework of the delay theory (which replaces the dark matter theory) and for this an additional commendation was given this year. Professor Yaholum's work on the Tully-Fisher relation, written for the Foundation for Gravitational Research, won theCommendation 2021. As mentioned, this work provides a theoretical explanation for the Tully-Fisher relation that links the luminosity (which is proportional to the mass of the galaxy) and the rotation speed of the material in the periphery. The lag theory that explains why there is no decrease in the rotation speed of the material at the edges when moving away from the center of the galaxy, is described in the article.

The delay theory

We spoke with Prof. Yaholom.

You claim that the same findings can be explained by relying on Einstein's theory of general relativity without assuming the existence of dark matter. Since dark matter is the scientific consensus today, could you elaborate?

"In science it is forbidden to invent entities and laws unless the observational facts oblige us to do so. The topic of dark matter mainly started with the velocity curves of galaxies. The scientists observed how the matter behaves, mainly at the edges of the galaxy, and the expectation was that as you move away from the center of the galaxy, where the bulk of the matter is found, the speed will decrease (1 divided by the root of R where R is the radius of the galaxy.)"

"In reality, not only does the rotation speed at the edge of the galaxies not decrease by this rate, but remains constant and in the case of M33 that we studied, even increases with distance. The solution was to assume the existence of dark matter which, together with the visible matter, explains the rotation speed as it is measured in reality."

"The question, of course, is what is dark matter. It does not derive from any model. There are detailed models of matter such as the standard model that predicts exactly which particles exist in nature and what their masses are, and there are accelerators that test this. Dark matter does not fit into the known theories of matter, i.e. particles. It has been hypothesized that dark matter is super symmetric particles but no such particle has been found in the accelerators. There is no experimental proof of dark matter other than its indirect effect on gravity."

"The question is whether the gravitational analysis that was done is sufficient. Everyone knows that the real gravitational theory is not the Newtonian one but Einstein's theory. Einstein built his theory partly out of considerations that there is no possibility that an event will immediately affect what is happening in remote areas. According to Newton's Torah, if someone were to raise the sun, we would immediately feel it on Earth. According to Einstein's Torah, everything that develops takes time and there is a higher speed in nature called the speed of light."

"The speed of light means that everything takes time to progress and manifest itself, so according to Einstein's theory, if we shut down the sun, we would not notice the effect in terms of electromagnetic radiation and not gravitationally. You had to wait eight minutes to realize something had happened."

"In the galaxies the situation is worse. Galaxies have a diameter of thousands of light years. If a change occurs in the center of the galaxy, its effect will reach the edges of the galaxy after ten thousand or twenty thousand years.

We are in a group of researchers, doctoral students and professors from Tel Aviv University, Ariel and other institutions that the rotation curves in the galaxy can definitely be explained by the lag phenomenon and on the condition that we claim that the mass of the galaxy changes in such a way that it has a second derivative, that is, not the increase in mass but the change in the increase in mass should be a given and certain We calculated this value and also calculated the rotation curve of the galaxy in my specific case M33 and showed that it corresponds exactly to reality."

"I wrote an article about this for the Gravity Research Foundation and already two years ago I received a commendation for my work. In the meantime, my doctoral student Michal Vegman studied twenty additional galaxies and showed that in all cases the data in reality fit my theory. In addition, we saw that the form of the potential that we receive according to the delay theory is the same as the one that we also receive from other, competing theories."

"There are other directions that hint at the correctness of the theory of delay. As mentioned this year, I received a commendation for the connection between the delay theory and the Tully-Fisher law that links the luminosity of a galaxy to the spectral width of certain lines in the galaxy. When the expansion of these lines indicates the rotation speed of the galaxy. This is an expansion related to the Doppler effect. To put it another way, the Tully Fisher ratio for the luminosity is related to the maximum rotation speed in the galaxy and this ratio goes like the speed in the fourth. The intensity of the illumination is proportional to the fourth power of the speed."

"In other words, there is a connection between the intensity of the illumination and the mass. We know that the sun has a certain illuminance and a certain mass. This relation light-to-mass ratio allows us to know what the absolute illuminance is and therefore the mass of a distant star given the distance to it."

We have shown that the Tully-Fisher relation necessarily follows from the delay theory. The mass of the galaxy must be proportional to the maximum velocity in the quadrant.

A new paper that almost ends the peer review phase shows that also from the delay theory comes the conclusion of the escape velocity of the galaxies as it is expressed in the redshift. In this case the apparent mass is not a dark mass but derives from the delay theory and it should be the same both in the phenomenon of the rotation curves in the galaxy and in the phenomenon of cosmic obsolescence.

In conclusion, Prof. Yahlom says: "Retardation theory explains where the results are without assuming the existence of dark matter, but directly from Einstein's theory of general relativity."

So it turns out that there are several teachings that try to give up the assumption of dark matter. At least as long as they explain the same phenomena. Will any of them one day replace the dark matter or not? time will tell.

  1. It's hard for me mentally to give up the dark matter... Although in science there is no room for fantasies, I love the mystery surrounding this material so much 🙂

  2. Thank you,
Interesting article. It is comforting to be proven that there is a possibility for alternative theories for dark matter and in a simplistic way I prefer a theory that does not have to assume that most of the world is undetectable in order to explain a phenomenon that has another explanation with existing tools that are proven to predict observations.
Congratulations on the achievement and good luck in the future.

Regardless, it is not clear to me why this site has become an arena for throwing beliefs at each other - this is not the place in my opinion - the site is a place for discourse on a scientific basis and whoever this is not the field in which he is interested in operating - should find others and not tarnish such an interesting and rare site.

  3. The idea of gravity was given to the world by Newton 330 years ago.
The law of conservation of energy was accepted in science 170 years ago.
The law of conservation of energy rules out the possibility that an explosive force emanating from the earth is the one that drops objects that have been released from them to the ground.
Objects that have been released from them fall by themselves from a height where they are at a lower height, and the amount of energy of the blow hitting the ground is exactly equal to the amount of energy of the height differences of the bodies.

If "gravity" exists in physical reality, then the law of conservation of energy does not exist in physical reality.
Since the law of conservation of energy exists without a shadow of a doubt in physical reality,
So gravity does not exist in physical reality.
And if gravity does not exist in physical reality, Newton's physics no longer exists.
Newton did not know about the existence of the law of conservation of energy.
If he had known, he certainly wouldn't have published the idea of gravity.
Newton's physics is about to be replaced by Esbar's physics. which appears in the book "The Magical Journey of Asbar on the Wings of Natural Knowledge"

  4. Naaman is a bad student, probably failed with Professor Yaholum in numerical systems and random signals and noise.

Professor Yaholom is an excellent lecturer and explains the studied material well.

  5. We are discussing a scientific topic, related to "continuous quantitative things" and there are only 5 such things.
These are the length, area, and volume, time and energy.
The material (which is just a combination of letters) does not belong to these things.
So what's the point of arguing about combining letters?

  6. L Y., Eran and others,

Let's see what is the debate between us?, and what do we disagree on?
Maybe the mirror??, I actually liked the assertion that the left is a mirror image of the right. It actually evokes sad thoughts about the nature of human behavior!, so we agree on the mirror!.
So maybe regarding the sequel, about the scientific truth, I also agree (with pain, admittedly) but because of the words of Popper, David Yom and others. So we agree here as well.
I also agree that I and they (and you too) are small and transient creatures looking for answers, in my view of science, and that is still very true and I agree!, so what is the problem?, where is the disagreement between us??
I know, dear Mr. Y. What are you striving for? , to my response to Mr. Eran!, so why doesn't your response make me angry and Eran's response makes me angry as well.?
Mr. Eran takes God and makes him the solution to every scientific phenomenon and I am with God I finished after the holocaust. I was born after the holocaust and suffered the holocaust all my childhood years. God was not the solution to the holocaust so I don't need him as a solution to science. So maybe you say that it is God and he is allowed and he is omnipotent, but, even you know that he gave us the choice, a right as a living being and not as a directed robotic machine, and I choose the right of choice to ignore God!
    But,… no one really knows?
and…. It is forbidden to slander those who do not think like us!
    So… again I agree with you…
    Yom Tov

  7. I read the article. Interesting article.
But there are several issues that require clarification:-

The first problem is how the delay will behave in galaxies where the behavior does not contradict the laws of gravity, and behave as if there is no dark matter in them, for example galaxy M96, what will the delay do in such a galaxy?, isn't it supposed to spoil?

Secondly, there are galaxies that look similar but nevertheless behave differently, what is happening here?, each galaxy and its delay?

Third thing, the delay lasts up to several thousands of years, but the galaxies rotate in several hundreds of millions of years, will the delay of such a tiny time also explain the movement of the large galaxies?

Fourth thing, in the cases of the dwarf galaxies, for example, those near the Milky Way, which move in an extreme motion, as if they have almost only dark matter, does the delay also explain the motion of the dwarfs??

The article still requires explanations and we hope that they will be given by Asher Yahlum.
    Avi Blizovsky for your attention.
    Good Day
    Sabdarmish Yehuda

  8. Dear Sabdarmish,
You remind me in your comment of the inability of our friends on the left to understand that they are a mirror image of the right - no better and no less bad, despite their strong desire to think they are different.

You believe in science, and that's perfectly fine, even though every moron will tell you that you can't prove anything scientifically just to dismiss options that don't line up with the facts.

Others believe in things beyond our narrow understanding, such as divinity or other metaphysical powers... and that's okay too!

You and them are fleeting little creatures looking for answers, and you won't find them by rejecting others, just as they can't simply because...no one really knows.

We will continue the journey to discover the truth and the nature of reality in all the ways that humanity knows how to offer, and we will not slander those who do not think like us

  9. It's a shame that there is no reference to other phenomena that are explained with the help of dark matter, and in particular to gravitational acceleration. Or maybe there is and I didn't understand.

  10. In the Zohar book it is written that matter is light that does not illuminate. Light is energy and Einstein's formula linking energy to matter was already discovered two thousand years ago. And the story is that matter is actually just another form of energy. Energy is very concentrated in a unit of space. And dark matter is energy that science still does not know how to measure. And perhaps he never knew that from the material world it is not possible to measure something that is in another world.

  11. Does anyone proofread the articles before uploading them to the site?! It's really embarrassing how many spelling and wording errors I found in the article (which was very interesting in itself)

  12. In nature there are many phenomena that the human mind does not perceive.
Gentlemen, explain to me what life is?
    How would you explain consciousness?
What is the difference between me and you?
How does an accumulation of particles whose volume is mostly empty space constitute a human being? Or any life? Or a plant?
The ancient man found an explanation: God!!!
Today we know that a modern God is everywhere you let him enter, whether a statue of wood or stone, all of them are a flower crow.
Conclusion:::: Refrain from explaining fundamental phenomena, please accept the understanding that we do not understand!!!!
What are we allowed from the beast in the field?
    Not much!!!!

  13. Prof. Asher Yehalum is a bad lecturer. Those who studied logic design and/or random signals and noise from him know this.

  14. A response to Eran and other Almighty God believers

Whenever science has trouble proving something, you immediately cheer and bring in your almighty magician with some stupid explanation.
First of all, it is clear to me that after the Holocaust, God does not exist and no explanation will be acceptable to me to justify the murder of six million, especially one and a half million children, why?, what did they sin? So you and your ilk who prefer a God who plays in the mud and creates man over a scientific explanation of evolution remain as childish as a child and continue with your mud games.
I will not continue to explain to you here, this is a scientific site and not for mud games. If you want, look for me and I'll be happy to try to get you back with a question? You can find more details on my website.
    Good day Eran
    Please respond gently

  15. My only problem with this article - lack of professional editing. Or an editor, whose salary he does not deserve.
So many errors and awkward wording, it's maddening.

  16. Interesting article, it's a shame that the linguistic editing is so bad. There are many spelling and punctuation errors, have someone edit the text for you before you publish it.

  17. So how does the mass of galaxies increase? Collecting material from intergalactic space? Absorb light and particles created in other galaxies? Since the sky is mostly dark, it is clear that a galaxy will lose more mass due to the loss of various particles (photons, neutrinos, electrons and more) than it will receive from other galaxies. And where does the second derivative of the mass increase come from?
The big problem with dark matter is that its existence is a hypothesis that fails to explain in advance any observation outside of the first observation that led to this hypothesis, and unfortunately most physicists think that there is a real law of nature here. No. There are many hypotheses that explain the problem of the rotation of stars in galaxies, all of them are currently equivalent.

  18. My favorite website for many years has been occupied by crazy people who are doppelgangers or just people who don't understand anything about science (yes Eran, God is the surest explanation for everything... My dear, we have made some progress).
And to the point... an outstanding article. It may not be far today that the (embarrassing) "dark matter" theory will be behind us. I have no idea how it became the scientific consensus without any observational backing or empirical prediction.
Yashr Khokh - Hallelujah and from Ariel University the Torah will come out and a Savior will come to the universe.

  19. The use of the term "dark matter" was a kind of statement by the scientists..we do not know dark matter in terms of dark energy. It has never been found and you will always want it with all kinds of excuses. Personally, I have always believed that there is a possibility that humanity is looking for something that simply does not exist... There is another possibility in my opinion, which is an error in the estimation or calculation of the gravity and the total mass of galaxies and the effect of huge masses and the cumulative movement of masses similar to train cars that are connected together For the second...think in terms that the galaxy is made up of billions of mighty magnets...what a cumulative gravitational force they all have together...what is more, in my opinion, there are many other things that we simply do not understand in depth...we need to change our approach and try to understand and decipher what we see and feel in order to develop theories that better explain the Reality confirms theories that explain why we fail to understand it

  20. Nothing will help. Dark matter does not exist, I have been claiming this for over twenty years, and whoever wants to read about it should go to Sabdarmish Yehuda's simple universe and read articles 75-82.
    Please respond gently

  22. Every time science fails to explain the monkey theory, instead of admitting that God exists, they give him names: hidden power, dark matter, black hole, etc., and you don't have to be a professor to see the scientific denial of God, actually!
If we moved away from the center of the Big Bang, there would be proof of that, and if the opposite is proven, the whole theory of evolution and the Big Bang collapses.
So instead of researching, they invent theories upon theories, like a tower of cards, which stands on one rickety card, and has already collapsed a thousand times.
Conclusion: Even the smartest professor in the world will not be able to deny the existence of God, the most important scientist of all...

  23. The study of the universe has been at a standstill since Newton invented the concept of gravity
The two fundamental concepts in the Newtonian universe are matter and gravity
The two fundamental concepts in the Einsteinian universe are matter and energy
And the two fundamental concepts in the neural universe are passive time and energy.
(Matter is a physical form, and gravity does not exist because it is not needed)

Details about the neural universe in the next article
