This image, taken in March 2010 by NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope and released this week to mark the telescope's 15th anniversary, shows the remains of the supernova HBH 3. Infrared wavelengths at a wavelength of 3.6 microns are mapped in blue, and light at a wavelength of 4.5 microns is translated into red The white color of the star-forming region is a combination of two wavelengths, while HBH3's "filaments" radiate only at a wavelength of 4.5 microns. In 2016, NASA's Fermi Gamma-ray Telescope detected a plume of gamma radiation coming from the region near HBH 3.
