Second agreement in the journey of Minister Akunis in China - cooperation with the province of Guandong

Science Minister Ofir Akunis signed yesterday (Tuesday) during his visit to China another memorandum of understanding for a new and first cooperation of its kind with the Guangdong province in China in the fields of high-tech and science. This is the second agreement signed with China in less than 48 hours.

The purpose of the agreement signed today is to deepen the joint activity and mutual investments and to enable cooperation between researchers from Israel and Guangdong. The subjects of the joint studies and their budget will be formulated later. Guangdong province is the richest among China's provinces and is considered very advanced in science and high-tech. The contacts with the province of Guandong began in 2013 with the visit of the governor of Guandong to the country, and were significantly advanced after the visit of the director general of the Ministry of Science Ido Shair to Guandong a year ago.

Minister Ofir Akunis said during the signing ceremony that the desire of the Chinese to deepen economic ties with Israel is evident and points to the tremendous esteem that Israel enjoys in China in particular and in many Asian countries in general.
