Israel and Poland today signed a memorandum of understanding for the first scientific cooperation between the countries

The Ministry of Science, Technology and Space signed today a memorandum of understanding which means a declaration of intentions for the first scientific cooperation between Israel and Poland. The signing of the cooperation agreement itself is expected at the beginning of 2014. So far, there has been no official agreement between the countries for cooperation in the field of science.

The statement of intent was signed today by the Director General of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Space, Adv. The signing was made against the background of the visit of the President of Poland and his entourage to Israel these days. During the signing, it was agreed between the parties to promote the establishment of the joint committee to examine the science issues, the scope of the investment and the plan.

Poland is a country that has grown in recent years in investing in science. The Polish government is responsible for approximately 60% of the national R&D expenditure in the country, percentages of government investment that are considered the highest in the world.

The signing of an agreement for cooperation between the countries came after the visit of the Minister of Science, Technology and Space Jacob Perry last June to Warsaw, when it was decided to deepen the scientific cooperation between the countries and advance the signing of this agreement.
