One of the most important telescopes in the world belonging to Tel Aviv University is already located in the Ramon Observatory, which is visited by hundreds of astronomers every year. The scientists of the university observatory will give scientific advice to the tourists who arrive.
The head of the local council, Dror Dvash, estimated that the construction of the observatory would result in an impressive increase in the number of travelers in the area, and would also significantly increase the number of overnight stays in hotels and hostels. "I believe that the establishment of the observatory will bring a great boom to tourism in the region," said Devash.
