Contrary to the opinion that has prevailed until now: we are not cousins of the Neanderthal man. This is now clear from a genetic study done in Italy.

Beyond that, the study made it clear that, contrary to what was believed for many years, the man who originated from Africa and began his wanderings 150 years ago that brought him to Europe, did not mix with the Neanderthal man at all.

In a study, the Italian scientists extracted genetic material, DNA, from the skeletal remains of a Neadrethal man, compared it with DNA samples of the caveman (Macro-Magnon man) and the modern man - and concluded that there are great differences between them, and therefore the historical family relationship was canceled .
The Neanderthal man, who exterminated the cavemen, and the man who came from Africa lived side by side 30 thousand years ago and did not mix at all. At some point, modern man from Africa also wiped out the Neanderthals.

Details of the research, carried out by Prof. Giorgio Bertolara from the University of Florence, are published this morning in the prestigious journal "Records of the American Academy of Sciences".
