Science Minister Ofir Akunis signed this morning in Beijing a joint statement with the Chinese Science Minister for joint investments by China and Israel in research. According to the statement, the Israeli Ministry of Science will invest up to over a million dollars and the Chinese Ministry of Science about 5 million dollars. This is about increasing investment in the countries' joint research, which has been taking place since 1995. The joint research will deal, among other things, with brain research, nanotechnology, XNUMXD printing, biomedicine, renewable energy, computer science, population aging, smart cities, and more.

Minister Aconis thanked the Chinese Minister of Science for the warm welcome and said at the meeting: "We are two ancient nations with a common future. I came here to deepen the cooperation between the two countries in science and technology to promote innovation and groundbreaking research.' Akunis invited his counterpart Minister Van Gang to visit Israel. Minister Gang said at the meeting: "The Chinese people greatly appreciate the cooperation with the State of Israel, the Israeli entrepreneurship in the fields of science and high-tech and look forward to deepening the cooperation between the two countries."
