The launcher is based on the Shihab 3 missile * its launch capability is limited, and the main purpose is to display power for propaganda purposes

Iran unveiled yesterday, February 4.2.2008, 3, a self-developed satellite launcher. The satellite launcher known as "SAFIR" is based on the technology of the Aryan ballistic missile "Shihab XNUMX" (which is actually a local production of the North Korean long-range missile "No-dong"). It differs from the Iranian Shihab missiles in its greater length and the configuration of the nose canopy, designed to contain a satellite instead of a warhead. The missile was presented to Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Minister of Defense, the commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards and other Iranian officials, during a tour of a new facility defined as a "space research center".

As part of the inauguration of the Iranian Space Research Center, a long-range Shihab 3B type ballistic missile was launched, which was painted for the occasion in civilian colors (ironically, blue and white...). According to Iranian spokesmen who made a statement after the launch, Iran will launch a self-developed satellite known as OMID (Hope) in the coming year using the Safire satellite launcher.

Calculations conducted in Israel show that a satellite launcher based on the technologies of the Iranian Shihab missile has a very limited ability to launch satellites into a low orbit around the Earth, and the mass of the satellite a missile of this type can carry is estimated at only 20-30 kg. At the same time, it must be remembered that self-launching capability (the ability to build a satellite and launch it using a self-made launcher) is the property of a few countries in the world - and since Israel joined the club of countries with the ability to operate independently in space, in 1988, no other country has joined this prestigious club. Iran's self-launching has extensive consequences in the field of projecting power, and increasing political prestige in the Persian Gulf region and the Middle East. In addition, Iran is trying to obtain, through its civilian launcher program, technologies that will improve its military programs in the field of surface-to-surface missiles.

  1. It would have been more correct on the part of the Iranians, if they had developed capabilities to promote peace on earth, because the earth has known countless harmful and difficult wars, and if they had made it clear to Hamas that in the Gaza Strip, shooting at civilians in Sderot, from concrete potholes, would eventually cause the cement transport to Gaza to stop.

And to the extent that the Iranians are captured by nostalgia for the empire from the historical past, when they also invaded Egypt, they were eventually subdued by Alexander the Great, whose empire he founded, was also eventually subdued by the Romans, who were also subdued by a semi-barbarian tribe - the Goths.

So the time has come to stop thinking about wars, and the development of weapons for attack purposes, as opposed to developments for defense purposes.

  2. They will use the missile as cover.
    "Satellite" they will say..
And after 5 minutes of launch we will find out that it is coming back down towards Haifa, the mushrooms will neutralize the missile but not completely, it will fall near the beach and create a strong seismic reaction, which will cause the worst of all... a big wave that washes the coastal strip of northern Haifa... a heavy and severe disaster...

    Don't say you weren't warned..
