The Aerospace Industry (TAA) unveils for the first time a unique combat unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for routine security missions in the maritime arena.

The UAV, called KATANA, is part of a comprehensive solution offered by the Israel Defense Forces to its customers and supports a wide variety of applications in the field of homeland defense, including the protection of economic trade zones (ZZE), maritime borders, ports and strategic maritime assets (drilling rigs, oil pipelines, etc.). The multi-purpose vessel is used, among other things, for tours and operations both in deep water and near the shore.

KATANA has a dual mode of operation, both with the help of an advanced command and control station or autonomously (unmanned) and as a manned combat vessel.

The new UAV has early warning capabilities and provides a real-time situational picture by locating, identifying and classifying very close and distant targets, including their interception, if required.

The KATANA's features include autonomous navigation, a collision avoidance system, an advanced control system, and more. Also, the vessel is equipped with various types of special payloads: communication and communication systems (line-of-sight, non-line-of-sight), radars and weapon systems.
The modular design and configuration allow maximum operational flexibility for the customer's convenience and to satisfy their needs in the arena.

KATANA joins the family of unmanned vehicles developed by the IAA in the air, on land, at sea and in space. Based on the TEA's extensive experience, it is possible to convert an existing marine platform or provide a new platform, according to the customer's requirement. A fact that improves operational capabilities and provides solutions available for implementation.

  1. And I stand by my opinion, you don't know about your own life, you arrogant and stupid spoiled brat.

  2. I answered. Maybe the answer was not what you wanted to hear. This dialogue has no power.

  3. Miraculously, we will not reach the equal valley. And that's fine. Maybe the dilemma is the advantages of size versus quality. In any case, it's not for us to decide.

  4. In the United States conscription is irrelevant in the 21st century. I believe that an American soldier is 10 times stronger than a Chinese soldier (conscription in China)

  5. Why recruit soldiers if the profile is lower than 97? And without relevant education? Or fat reservists with beards? And in my opinion, Israel is not under an existential threat. To be honest, Israel has the most advanced means of warfare in the world.

  6. Ahab
Let me tell you two things that you probably don't know about. The first is that there is mandatory conscription in the US when this country decides that it is necessary. See the Vietnam entry for example
The second is that Israel is the only country in the world that is in existential danger. The only reason Israel exists is the size of its army. If it was a volunteer army, then because... We will call it... The quality of the people who live here, the army would look like the police.
Would you volunteer for such an army ahab?

  7. And in general, who said that the Zionist ethos has to be military? Maybe it is the ethos of a patient, democratic Judaism? of construction and agriculture? of nature conservation and forest planting? of enlightened Judaism that promotes science? According to what I remember, the Palmach, the Hagana, and Hatchel were established to maintain security and not as a national goal.

  8. Lenisim, you represent the accepted opinion in Israel. In my opinion, a country that demands a lot from its citizens should also give a lot. But today the country does not give much. And if you fall into trouble, you will not receive significant help (the process would be humiliating). An embarrassing situation is created, the demands are of a welfare state, The service belongs to a conservative country. Therefore, one should demand less from the citizen, who also receives less.

  9. Ahab
You are partially right. On the one hand, everyone should do meaningful service, on the other hand, the servants should be respected and given 1 for example, free education.

  10. To loli, how is this different from kidnapping attempts that exist today? And why are so many resources invested in cyber?

  11. This innovation can lead to manpower savings. In my opinion, it is unfair to serve three years in the army without proper pay. And in fact, the young people of Israel have no choice because they are obligated to serve in the army by law. I believe that the conscription model is a mistake - abuse of the Israeli youth. And it must be changed to a different recruitment model.
