The Aerospace Industry is presenting for the first time at the "Eurosatory" land exhibition near Paris, which was opened yesterday, a portable, lightweight electro-optical system for the acquisition and designation of ground targets - GTADS (Ground Target Acquisition & Designation System).

In the development of the system, an innovative concept was implemented in the field of observation and marking of ground targets in a stabilized, calibrated and closed system containing both the sensors and the laser pointer.
GTADS is based on an electro-optical operational system stabilized on a tripod manufactured by the TAA - MiniPOP and includes a tactical computer, operating handle + eyepiece, north outlet and power supply.

The system meets the challenge of shortening the reaction time between the observation element and the attacking element (Sensor-to-Shooter) in the arena and increases the operator's survivability thanks to a remote activation capability that allows the tasks to be performed behind cover.

Shaul Shahar, TAM plant manager, missile and space systems division stated that: "GTADS combines the technological capabilities of the aerospace industry in the fields of stabilized systems, electro-optics, laser marking and image processing. The system ensures the success of the mission by providing rapid deployment in the field, accurate remote operation, day and night target acquisition, automatic tracking, laser marking of moving targets - all in one unit while preserving human life. GTADS is an optimal answer to the ever-increasing needs of the ground forces on the modern battlefield - both in terms of mobility and in terms of the level of accuracy of target marking."
