As part of the International Space Congress held in Daejeon, South Korea, plenary sessions are held (see news about the session of heads of agencies and the space industries session) and technical/scientific discussions. In this framework, a fascinating discussion session was held on the subject of entrepreneurship in space.

Among the articles presented at the session:
- Activation of an experimental site that simulates the lunar environment
- Cheap space tourism
– Commercial space mission from Holland to the moon
- Economic analysis of commercial space initiatives
- The character of the future space entrepreneur
- Creating an artificial "meteor meter" for commercial purposes

The subject of private space initiatives is also discussed in other sessions, such as the one dealing with future missions to the moon, where various projects participating in the Google Lunar X prize competition are presented, and the commercial passenger spaceship initiative operated by the entrepreneur who led to the establishment of the commercial space center in Oklahoma, based on the infrastructure of an air force base The American, which is not in use.

A special panel of space industry leaders from around the world is currently meeting in Daejeon, Korea, as part of the International Astronautical Congress. The discussion revolved around the role of the space industries as an economic engine, especially in light of the global economic crisis. Among the debaters: the president of the Canadian Space Agency Steve McLean, Jean-Yves LeGalle, the director of the launch company Ariane Space, Francois Oak, the head of the European space corporation EADS Astrium, Sridhara Murthy, the head of the Indian space corporation Antrix, and others.

It should be emphasized that the issue of the global economic crisis has accompanied the conference since its first day, and both the heads of the space agencies and the president of the International Astronautical Federation referred to it. In view of the great influence of the economy on space and vice versa, it was decided to hold a debate on this subject for the first time in Congress. Additional updates to this record will be posted later.

  1. I did not understand. Isn't NASA a space industry? Did they shut it down while I was sleeping or what?

  2. To the first responder - the Israeli Space Agency is fully participating in the conference! (and the one who understands will understand)

In any case, the heads of small and medium-sized agencies never participate in the panel of agency heads.

  3. Does the Israeli Space Agency have a part in this congress?
because according to the rumors we are a "space power"
