The Aerospace Industry (TAA) unveils for the first time the "Heron TP" UAV, large in size, with a wingspan of 26 meters and with the ability to stay in the air for 36 hours at a time. The UAV is designed to fly at medium altitude.

The first presentation of the "Heron TP" will be in the TAA pavilion at the Air Salon, which opens tomorrow (June 18.06.07, XNUMX) in La Bourget, Paris.

The "Heron TP" UAV is powered by a powerful turbo-prop engine (1200 hp), which allows flight to an altitude of 45,000 feet, above the normal flight altitude in civil aviation. The take-off weight of the UAV - 4650 kg. The UAV maintains the "double tail principle" and offers a large internal volume intended for carrying rockets of a typical weight for an operational rocket - about 1000 kg. The UAV allows its operators flexibility in changing the contents of the satellites, according to the various tasks.

Yitzhak Nissen, CEO of the IAA, said that: "In the development of the 'Heron TP', a new standard was set in terms of the performance envelope, capabilities, purposes and reliability of unmanned aerial vehicles. The new UAV will meet the operational needs of the Israeli Air Force in the coming years."

Yair Dobster, manager of the UAV plant in TAA, stated that: "In this high school and UAV development, the company's 30 years of experience in the development and production of UAVs were reflected. Great emphasis was placed on the airworthiness of the Heron TP. The highest safety and reliability measures were installed in it, such as a fully automatic take-off and landing system and triple redundancy of the flight and control systems, which enable safe flight over populated areas.

Several drones of this type have already been produced and tested by the Israeli Ministry of Defense. "The 'Heron TP' UAV is a breakthrough in the field of UAVs, and will perform a large variety of operational activities," said a senior officer in the Israeli Air Force.

Aerospace industry products on display at the Air Salon in Paris

In addition, the company will present products in various fields, such as: the models of the "Ofek", "Eros" and "Amos" satellites, which were developed in TEA and function in space, together with the models of the future satellites destined for launch, such as: "TecSAR" - an observation satellite A radar equipped with a SAR radar for all weather and day and night, and "OptSAT 3000" (OptSAT 3000) - a third generation of optical observation satellites, designed to cruise in space for about 6 years.

The exhibition will feature the diverse and numerous UAV family - the successes of the UAV Factory, starting with the tactical UAVs and mini UAVs up to the large UAVs developed and manufactured at the TAA. Also, a wide variety of ground, airborne and marine radars, developed by Alta Systems Ltd., a subsidiary of the Israel Defense Forces, will be presented, along with electronic intelligence systems of various types and advanced control and control measures.

In addition, an array of smart bombs, laser-guided missiles for short and long ranges, a multi-purpose command and control center "Twister" (Twister), designed to serve decision makers in the management of combat systems, will be presented, and the POP family will also be presented for the issue in the fields of electro-optics. As in previous years, this year too the "Arrow" system will be presented at the exhibition.

  1. How big is so vulnerable, it's a big slow and very clumsy tool! It will work very well in the skies of the country or in the skies of Lebanon, but in a country like Iran or Syria, it will not survive more than an hour with missiles that have there also a previous generation of missiles can reach a height of 60,000 feet, so the new releases will not arrive? It seems to me just noise and ringing around this giant,

  2. The goal within a few years - to remove the fighters from the battlefield - must be prepared for robotics that makes the fighters redundant, not within twenty years but within a few years, but it is not about such autonomous robotics on which the Americans emphasize, these are robotics that is operationally, mainly remotely controlled as developed by Israel and brought to my attention An expression in Heron. Remotely guided robotics in the air at sea and on land should eventually remove the warriors from the battlefield altogether. It is true that this is not completely possible today, but a correct assessment could lead to this in a limited number of years. Read about it in the article Robotics - the ultimate answer to terrorism and on the future battlefield on the "Strengthening Israel" website

  3. Can the new anti-aircraft missiles that are manufactured in Russia and recently transferred to Israel's enemies (knowledge of Syria being equipped with new anti-aircraft missiles) also shoot down such a drone?
