The companies GomSpace and SPACECIALIST signed today a cooperation agreement for business development and technology development for nano satellites. As part of the agreement SPACECIALIST will be the official representative of GomSpace in Israel.

Nanosatellites and Cubesats, i.e. small satellites with a typical mass of a few kilograms, are becoming known and appreciated in the space industry as important platforms for building technological capacity and demonstrating new technologies and applications. The founders of GomSpace were involved in the cubesat community even before the first launches of cubesats in 2003. Today GomSpace offers a wide range of products and solutions for nano satellites.

Mr. Lars K. Alminde, executive director of GomSpace, said, "We look forward to supporting the emerging nanosatellite activity in Israel and developing innovative and fascinating business opportunities that have been identified in our relationship with SPACECIALIST. Being small companies in our small countries leads us to develop a dynamic and creative approach and maintain close contact with our customers."

Midad Farinta, CEO of SPACECIALIST, said, "We are happy and proud to bring to the civil space industry in Israel a dynamic and creative company like GomSpace that provides high quality components and subsystems (mission computers, satellites and power supply systems). We expect these systems to be successfully integrated into existing and future nanosatellite missions. We intend, together with the GomSpace company, to develop more subsystems, components and COTS solutions and anticipate a fruitful cooperation. We would also like to thank the Fisher Institute for organizing the introductory meeting between the companies as part of the Ilan Ramon International Space Conference that was in Herzliya"

The cooperation agreement entered into force and includes the distribution and sale of nanosatellite components, identification of future technological needs and development of the new products, the cooperation will focus on Europe and Israel but is not limited to that.
