Announcement of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Space
In a solemn ceremony held at the Golan Research Center today, October 1, 2013, a new center for the research institute was inaugurated in the capacity of the Minister of Science, Technology and Space Yaakov Perry.

The center, established and supported by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Space, deals with research on and for the Golan Heights region. The studies are of an applied nature that are relevant to the region in the fields of agriculture, life sciences and biotechnology, environmental sciences, education and society, community and settlement and more. Among the studies carried out in it: diseases of grapevines; Jewish and Arab entrepreneurship in the villages; residents of the northeastern periphery; consequences of repeated fires in the area; Accessibility to health services among the elderly in the area and more.
The new building contains all the wings of the center: a magnificent archive of the Golan region that includes material on the documentation of the settlement in the Golan Heights, a library, a reference room, laboratories, rooms for researchers and conference rooms. The cost of building the building is about ten million shekels.

The center currently employs about 40 employees, 18 of whom are researchers with PhDs, nine postgraduate research students and about ten research assistants and research fellows - all of them are returnees from the area, including from the Druze villages. The center is headed by Dr. Moshe Reuvani.
The center archive is considered central in the Golan Heights and even won the Herlitz Prize for Archives. The archive gathers a treasure trove on settlement in the modern and ancient times as well as exhibits, press and audio clips and photos from the ascent to the Golan and the beginnings of settlements and more.

At the entrance to the new building, there is also an exhibition unique to the center in collaboration with the IDF Archives, which includes photos from the Yom Kippur War in the Golan Heights, including of Kahalani and his soldiers, soldiers writing letters, as well as drawings on military maps drawn while fighting. The exhibition is open to the public.

Minister Perry said today at the inauguration of the center: "I have no doubt that the new institute will continue the growth process in the Golan and make a significant contribution to the development of a knowledge, researching and teaching society that will help leverage the entire region. The uniqueness of the research institute is its targeted contribution to improving the well-being of the residents in the Golan and is a platform for researchers from all over the country to come to it and thus continue the settlement in the Golan."

  1. Jacob Perry is a politician. Jacob Perry was a politician in his previous incarnations as well.

Politicians usually tell half-truths, according to convenience, to promote themselves. Now Perry realizes that this is not the right time to sell an ideology of "peace", so he changes his mind and says other things.

  2. Here is another shy minister.
is not able to say: 'I was wrong'.
Politicians are allowed to recognize the changed situation and respond by correcting their position on the issue, for some reason this is not acceptable in our places. A desire to hand over the Golan to Syria today is similar to Sahruri's hallucination.
Honorable Minister Jacob Perry, you had a good opportunity to apologize to the people and the world for a mistake.
you missed You came out small.

  3. Until recently Yaakov Perry supported handing over the Golan to the Assad family.
"Regarding Syria, Israel will withdraw from the Golan Heights, with slight changes and an exchange of territories in stages, which will last no more than five years."

Now, without getting confused or apologizing, he is in favor of the growth and development of the Golan.
